OK, that makes sense, so I need a seal that will take the 5/8 dia shaft. Non of the usual's seem to do them unfortunately.

I think it is only the CR gearboxes that have a component Laygear. Agreed the CR boxes are much more common in the XK's than E-types. Therefore a good source of a cheap CR upgrade if you know what you are doing.
