Re: What does this little screw do? Distributor drive.

That was my first thought, but the bush has not been changed, and looking down the hole there is no witness mark on the bush, nor would you really want one as could easily push the bush out of round. Unless there is a recess in the bush that the screw locates into. Not seen one out the engine. Cheers.

What does this little screw do? Distributor drive.

Can anyone advise what the little 10/32” screw in the pic does? It was removed and not returned by the guys that chemically cleaned the block, but I can see it’s purpose. It’s not mentioned in the manual and I’m reluctant to put the front cover on until I know what it does. Looking down the hole it ...

Re: Door card chromes

Thank you, as far as I can tell everything I have is original, it all fits nicely 😱, and there are no spare holes, mines a March 63 car so a tad earlier than yours Richard. So I’ll go with what I have. Thanks for the link to the clips, I shall add to my next order.

Re: Door card chromes

Thanks for all the replies, I’m thinking mine is different, the trim is the same section as the lower one, just shorter. There must be some sort of clip that is screwed on first then the trim clips to it, any screws fitted from the outside would be visible.

Door card chromes

Can anyone advise what’s used to hold the upper door card chrome strips on a 63 car please. The one that goes between the door card and the upper crash pad. The lower one uses the little staple clips, but unsure with the upper, they were missing on my car. Thanks in advance. Chris.

Re: b pillar alignment S1 FHC

Here’s some photos from my car, which I believe is original. It definitely wasn’t stripped when it was resprayed as there’s overspray on everything. When I got it, it still had the remains of the original genuine door seals fitted. I’ve had the doors off since, but not disturbed the fit of the fram...

Re: b pillar alignment S1 FHC

I understand exactly now. You are right. The window frame does nor run parallel to the windscreen frame, roof and b post an the same time in my experience. No matter how you shim it as the rear quarter-light has to shut! I can never get this to align perfectly either, without completely re-engineer...

Re: b pillar alignment S1 FHC

It might be a trick of the light, but in the middle picture, the bottom mounting of the 1/4light pillar looks a bit skewed. I had the same on my driver’s side and it caused alignment headaches until I replaced it. It is a little bit in that pic, it’s where it naturally wants to sit with the screws ...

Re: b pillar alignment S1 FHC

When you say your door frame sticks out 3/16th, do you mead your door frame or your window frame? Hoping the below may help. The door and chrome window frame fit beautifully when viewed from the side. If you look at the pic from the rear, you can see that the A post and B post are different angles,...

b pillar alignment S1 FHC

Quick question on door window/B pillar alignment. How good were they from the factory? I’m fitting up my door frames all fits nicely, with a parallel gap when viewed from the side, but the door frame sticks out at the top by about 3/16”, it’s down on the seal nicely on the inside all the way round, ...

Throttle pedal mount missing

I’ve done a daft thing🙄. Can someone advise or send a pic of the throttle pedal mount in the floor? I’ve changed the full floors in my 63 car and totally forgot about this. It’s all now painted and lovely, but nowhere to mount the pedal... floor was removed a long while ago and I have no idea what w...

3.8 seat frame colour

Can anyone help with a colour for the seat frames on a 3.8? I can’t find anything in the knowledge base. Mine were a kind of dove grey. Thanks. Chris.

Instrument brass rivets

Hi, does anyone know if you can get the little brass rivets that hold the blue diffuser lenses onto the cases please, also the ones that hold the reflectors into indicator bodies too. Thanks.
