Re: Which panel supplier?

That’s all very helpful chaps, thank you. Prior to posting I’d pretty much decided to go with Hutsons, they were very helpful with my enquiries and very honest regarding the fit and adjustments required which for me goes a long way. There pricing seems more than competitive too. I’ve no doubt the mo...

Which panel supplier?

Hi all, just about to get stuck in to the panel work of my 63 fhc after having it stripped. It needs fwd floors, boot floor and outer sills due to minor corrosion and a left front wing and bonnet underpants due to damage. Just wondering who the preferred suppliers are as there’s a few with the price...

Re: Steering column issues

Thanks Simon and Jeremy, both pics are a help. It does look like I have a mismatch of parts. I now just have to figure out which is the original, my inner column is the same as yours Jeremy, although the manual pictures it like Simons. Hopefully another kind soul can pitch in and assist also. Many t...

If you line up the horn ring and wiper the column misses the rubber bushes. In the manual the lower end looks...

Re: early series 1 chassis numbers

I think they are rarer now than the original statistics suggest. Many more later cars have survived than the early ones. No doubt someone somewhere has the figures. If you know of a project anywhere in any condition you could pm me. Off to the states next week to look at this one and an early 140. Ta.

Thanks Julian, much appreciated. Shame in some ways it's not a little earlier, but then I have big feet so need the space.. Ta, Chris

early series 1 chassis numbers

Morning all, new to the site. I'm looking at buying my second E type as I've been offered an American 3.8 fixed head, the Chassis number is 886084 and engine R5582-9 which I think makes it early 1962. It's rusty, and I mean Rusty! there are no floors, and If it were drivable and you wend over a bump...
