Re: water pump pulley frustration 67 fhc

Hi I have the belt off my car in my hand, number on the outside is C24291C,as of late the quality of the w belts has not been good some have resorted to running two small single belts, number is 3VX430 3/8"x 43"long,gives a degree of redundancy as well.

Re: The 5 Speed is here……..

Keep on going Joey, following your 5 speed install with interest,I would do that metal mod in a heart beat on my car.I think the basic E type tub was very strong,a fellow JCNA member who raced a coupe was and still is amazed how well it stood up to off track excursions etc. Regards Gerry 62 Ots Ontar...

Hi Jeremy,if you had A Moss Box,you would be very exited about a fivespeed box with unbeatable synco.I often start off in 2nd at traffic lights to avoid that slow change from first to second causing the person in a full size pickup or suv to run into the back of me! Re: Terribly British

Hi Chris ,I think you must be mistaken ,the moulds for the challenger were taken from an early E type roadster ,saw one at a car show in Toronto, very convincing until you got up close ,transmission tunnel was the big give away.

Hi Phil ,nothing difficult about welding cast iron as long as the material is fairly thick ,probably the best for bet your block would be the stitching technique shown in the Practical Classics E type restoration book?

Re: Changing the clutch check list

Hi Grant,be aware that there are a lot of bad throw out bearings out there, you could end up doing the clutch job twice! On some the carbon bonding does not hold on others the carbon disintegrates?

Re: Winter Care

Hi Ian,I think starting your car during the winter layup does more harm than good, cold starts cause more wear than anything else, plus all the associated condensation means you have to leave the car running for an extended period to burn off all the moisture. That being said I do live in Canada where ...
