Re: Smart chargers

I have always used CTEK mainly the MXS 5.0 and it has always worked well. But I read an article recently in one of the motoring magazines that the Ring 8 amp trickle charger was good value. They do other lower amp models too at lower prices.

Re: Crazy hardtop price

I have a series 3 hardtop with all chrome trim intact in good condition. However, having owned the E Type for 14 years I have never used it. It's just a nuisance to store. I am told by the first owner that it came with the car new.

Re: Parts quality!?

Totally agree about pattern parts mentioned by David above. However, it is still important that the Company should be judged on the way it handles complaints and remedies poor parts issues.
Just my thoughts!

Re: Chrome trim air scoop

That chrome trim is normally made of chromed plastic. Best way to fit is after putting the trim in hot water. It makes it bend around the corners much easier.

Re: Shipping and Duty/Death and taxes...

Maintaining an e-type in the UK is expensive. Maintaining one in Canada is MUCH more expensive due to shipping and customs. It's not uncommon to end up more than doubling the cost of items purchased from a US or UK-based supplier. I appreciate these are extremely privileged and fortunate problems t...

I have an original UK delivered TR4 registered on 28 June 1963 and it doesn't have a suffix letter.

Re: Hard tops

David, Do you know if the original headlining is still available for the series 3 hardtop. My one is in need of re-furbing and currently has a dog toothed type pattern on it. Not sure if it's the original or not. I have found out from the first owner that the hardtop came with the car when it was ne...

Re: Perfect Weather drive your E Type!

Hi Lee,
Good to hear you are enjoying the car whatever the weather.
Thanks for the photo of my C2.
I met Bill today at the meet and we had a chat, his E Type is exceptional, I hadn't met him before but have known his brother (who also owns an E Type amongst other cars) for a while.

Where were you driving Lee? Been a stunning day here in the sunny city of Southend-on-Sea. Was out in the C2 for meet up locally and met Bill (FlatFloor3.8) in his '63 3.8 Roadster. Stunning car! Temperature is a balmy 16 deg C and sunny! Ideal for a top down cruise to the meet and then hom...

Re: ULEZ exemption

All E-Types are exempt from London’s ULEZ, but they have to pay the congestion charge. Yes exempt from ULEZ charge, but you have to register them as historic on their website. Otherwise they will show as chargeable. Mike. I've just checked and mine is only showing as requiring congestion charge. Do...
