Re: Brake pressure

The brake fluid hasn't gone down.

Its beyond me and I have limited time. I think it best to send back to the garage who did the work in the first place. I'll let you know how I get on and thank you for all your suggestions which I have "helpfully" given to the garage!

Re: Brake pressure

Thanks Christopher ... I hope it is that simple. Do you think a good local garage can cope with that or should I drive the 25 miles to the "specialist" who did the brakes in the first place.

Brake pressure

Having a continual problem with the brakes. The brake pedal initially works as you would expect with pressure in the pedal and then after a drive it suddenly loses all pressure. The brakes still work if you press the brake down right to the end of travel. If you pump the pedal it comes back initiall...

Looks like it didn't make its reserve. The last time I looked it was at £45K plus 6%

Re: Jaguar Paintings.

Hi Paul, I really like them. If you are running out of wall space would you do one of my e-type? I would gladly pay for it. Jon

Re: E-Type major price correction expected?!

I was thinking that too Rory.

How much do we think it will go for £70K plus the 6% fee?

Re: Shipping - Container vs RORO

I imported a car from denmark to the UK on a roll on roll off. It was a fully restored Alfa GT Junior. When I picked it up parts had been taken off and later the engine went, we think someone had put sand in the engine. Be careful!

Re: Fuel leaking from right side front wing

Thanks guys will try that tonight when I get home. It needs to go back to the garage as the brakes are sticky too so may get them to change the washers at the same time. However it was restored about 5 years ago so I do wonder why these have gone so soon. Hopefully a low torque tighten will stop the...

Re: Fuel leaking from right side front wing

I've found where its coming out of. See below. Its from the right of this part and is running down the pipe. Quite a lot of fuel.

Fuel leaking from right side front wing

After cleaning it today and leaving it to run for a bit I noticed a liquid leaking from the right side front wing. I can't figure out where its coming from or when it started. I had just come back from a 100 mile round trip.

Re: Spinners stuck and wheels stuck on!

There is certainly always something to do on an E-type! unfortunately I also have a few other "needy" cars too. Thanks for the suggestion guys.

Re: Spinners stuck and wheels stuck on!

The rubbing was due to the zeus calipers not clearing all types of wire wheels. They have resolved that with the new versions, however I decided to change to Coopercraft as they also look after my car and I know they are good. I released the locked wheels in the end by driving around in circles with...

Re: Spinners stuck and wheels stuck on!

Got my e-type back last night from Coopercraft after having the new calipers and vented discs fitted and they are great. They have been designed to give reasonable clearance and they work fantastically with my green pads. They also look great. Problem finally solved.

Re: A year ago, when things were different

This time last year I was getting ready to go to the Petrolicuous event (below) and the pistonheads sunday service at Aston Martin. We stayed over at Raymond Blancs place as a treat. Whata difference a year makes!
