Further to the above issue, i have contacted Maikel directly to organise resolution. From the pictures, it would seem that there is a fault in this particular casting that has not been picked up during manufacture. We will check our existing stocks to ensure that this isnt widespread and will arrang...

Re: WARNING…BE CAREFUL!!

This thread is a few weeks old now but i just wanted to update the situation. We had the failed bearing back from the original poster (with whom I have been in close contact) and this was sent to B&B for investigation. Unfortunately, it was not possible to be certain of the root cause of the issue b...

Re: WARNING…BE CAREFUL!!

Dear All, Just to let you all know that i am aware of this thread and I will keep my eye on the process of the return of the part and its subsequent investigation. Of course, this issue needs to be investigated properly - hence why we have asked for the bearing to be returned. As others have mention...

Re: 40 Years of SNG Barratt Video

Thanks for the kind words on here - we have to say back that we wouldnt be here without the support of you all - our customers - which is massively appreciated and its always a pleasure to work with E-type folk. With regards to the "scruffy" XK - I like to consider mine to be "shabby chic" but I hop...

Re: Problems fitting courtesy light switches

Its a while since this post originally started and we had a few attempts at modifying the switch to no avail - we have now retooled the claw part of this switch so it fits into the hole perfectly and is snug once in place. https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/UK/parts/489b5914-f06e-4d92-84ab-33ccb21...

Re: EZ STEERING GTJOEY ITS A NEW WORLD!

Hi All, A bit of my own feedback on this subject that may be of interest. I have always been of the view that power steering is surplus to requirements on an E-type and i have covered 1000s of miles in our development car - the series 1 4.2 roadster that many of you may know as 50EE. At SNG Barratt ...

Re: 3.8 in-tank fuel pump.

Afternoon all, To update further on the above the current submerged pumps that we produce use Cohline 2190.0615 hose. This hose is able to take 15% ethanol through it and can be submerged in 100% ethanol. Therefore there is no need for a sleeve or any changes to the material that we are using. We ha...

Re: 3.8 in-tank fuel pump.

Hi All, Just to say that i am aware of this thread. As you all may know, there have been a number of changes in the fuel systems in recent years to ensure that parts are able to work with newer fuels such as E10 (across the classic car sector). Parts that we sell now are compatible and have been for...

I will put all the items together this week so I understand the issue myself and report back…

Simon,
I thought we had sent you a replacement set a month or more ago. We certainly changed our supplier of these to ensure future supply was improved.

I will chase up tomorrow and advise...

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

Hello Julian, One area where I an improvement can be made is in the material used. The original is brass, whereas the reproductions have been made in steel. Brass behaves and is a better material to press. Further, if minor tweaking is required by the end user (there are variations in the area wher...

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

Hi Julian, You were looking into the fitment issues on the S2 and S3 headlamp chromes last year and said you would post some pics up of them on your S3. I just wondered how you had gone on? Simon To update on this one, we have done 3d scans of the bonnet and we have revised profiles for the surroun...

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

I’m in the middle of a long term restoration of a series 1.5 dhc and conversion to RHD. I’d like to be involved with the proposed group. Service doesn’t seem to be a problem and most contacts are helpful but too many NLA or back order items. Please do feel free to put questions on this forum board ...

Re: Hood tie down straps BD20660

Nice work, Simon. You got a result but this issue speaks volumes about general parts supply quality. Its great that Julian is placing a QC note on them but the problem is that Julian's supplier doesn't seem to have any pride of work or appreciate the quality that is expected of them. It is also int...

Re: Hood tie down straps BD20660

Having taken a look at these, it would appear that the recent supply is indeed sub standard and do not look like the picture on our website or the originals in terms of the pointed end. We will return all our stocks to our supplier and contact any other customers who have purchased recently so we ca...
