Re: Overdrive S3
That’s great information. Thank you all. I will drive it for a few months and decide to exchange the 3.54 for a 2.88. Hopefully I’ll have it back in a month or so.

Re: Overdrive S3
Colin, Thank you for that graph. I’m a numbers and visual guy so I really appreciate it. Now it leads me to a few more questions. As I think I understand but can argue myself in a circle since the final drive is one thing but you can change gears when in 2nd or 3rd. If I take out my 3.54 and install...

Re: Hi Torque starter motor
Marek, thank you for the detailed explanation and I completely understand. You are 100% correct. My thought process defies logic. I shipped parts (brakes, alternator etc) from Fosseway anyway, I am not paying VAT, so no extra shipping and no extra labor to install it. Since essentially the entire mo...

Re: Webers or Fuel Injection
My car is “in progress” so I can’t tell you the results yet. Sports Car Classics about 40 miles north of Los Angeles has been doing this for years. They have several levels of upgrades. The owner used to be some part of E-TYPE UK when he lived in the UK. As with any restoration, the budget went over...

Re: Overdrive S3
I am currently rebuilding my 74 OTS blue/biscuit. It’s been 9 months now waiting on parts with Covid so now I’ve got most done and they are in the final stages of rebuilding the engine back together. It is now 6.1L EFI. I was planning on leaving the 4 speed in as the budget has been blown way apart ...

Re: Webers or Fuel Injection
I’m not an expert, but I wanted to go with the Weber kit, but I was basically told by several restoration shops that it is almost cosmetic as the velocity stacks needed would not clear the bonnet so the short ones that come with the V12 kit are fussy and not much gain. I went with EFI.

Re: Hi Torque starter motor
I’m installing the Fosseway high torque starter in my 74 OTS. The engine is out and being rebuilt so it is a small expense and easy to get at. It’s small, lighter and has twice the power. My car started fine before but it’ll soon be 6.1L EFI. http://www.fossewayperformance.co.uk/high-torque-starter-...

Re: thicker Moto-Lita steering wheel
This is my first post here. I found the thread googling “thick wood steering wheel XKE series 3”. I know some are very conservative with adding changes and some folks put v8s in theirs. I’ve always been a fan of the Series 1 cars with the metal dash and center console, toggle switches and wooden ste...
