Re: Seat removal

Mine came out no problem. You will likely need to fold them forward and then maybe get a helper to help you work them out of the car.

Re: Rubber Shifter Cover Install

So I got the center console out of the way. I’m still a bit confused about the rubber boot. The holes in the rubber boot line up with the holes in the metal just fine. I just assume there should be a plate that holds the rubber down. I have this metal ring but I assume this metal ring is for the lea...

Re: Refitting IRS question

Beautiful work Andy! Make sure your Hubs are on the correct sides....wish the person that rebuilt my rear suspension would have gotten that part right. Hey...50-50 chance.

I’d say I found out why the ignition switch was hot. Shaking my head.

Thanks All! Here’s the bad relay. Frustrating that it appears brand new. https://i.postimg.cc/nLQQCvDy/09137-E25-D82-A-4749-8-D0-C-64-FFE3-CE4-ED9.png https://i.postimg.cc/137pgmYq/B6011878-228-C-4-A70-B06-D-42-D55031522-D.png https://i.postimg.cc/QdC7rLxx/E10-A4-BC5-E6-CB-43-D3-BAAC-DBD0-F6-D7-FD2-...

Re: Starter tried hard to run the car into a wall.

Replacement parts have arrived. 2 questions if you don’t mind. Has anyone used this particular gear reduction starter? Do I need to be worried about using some type of spacer? This relay is not the same relay as the one I posted above (the one that is faulty). Will this new relay work as a starter r...

Re: Starter tried hard to run the car into a wall.

Mike at Coolcats suggested I try this test and...it failed! What’s really interesting is 30 minutes later it was fine.
Another junk quality reproduction part I guess.

Re: Rubber trim glue?

3M makes a rubber gasket/weatherstrip glue which is kind of like black contact cement.
That’s what I used to get the corners of my rubber gasket to stick to the bumper.

Re: Rubber Shifter Cover Install

Thanks all. Before I dig into taking the car apart, I wanted to ask about this gap I have between the radio console and the center console. I presume that something isn’t the right part or that perhaps a PO modified or cut the center console. I’m betting it was to allow an easier install of the ster...

Starter tried hard to run the car into a wall.

Well it’s been very adventurous...this vehicle. Had coffee today and upon leaving, I started the car and the starter never disengaged. Made horrible noises. I finally had to stall the car. I thought that stopped it but when I took my foot off the brake the starter was trying to lunge the car into th...

Rubber Shifter Cover Install

Hello all. Thank you as always for the help here. I had posted before about the fact that I always arrive at my destinations in my FHC smelling like a spark plug. I finally realized that a big part of the problem is that I had no rubber boot under the leather shifter cover and the leather was leakin...

Re: Rear Spinners on wrong sides...hubs reversed.

I managed to get everything swapped from side to side as we discussed here. Thanks to all. There is still some play but a friend with an e-type measured it with his dial gauge. It will have to be a project for another day. For now, I’m happy to be rolling my spinners in the correct directions. Thank...

Re: Paint bubbles around headlights

Thanks for the suggestion on the touch up paint specialists. I believe there is a talented fellow near me.

Wanted to ask one more time if anyone is aware of an oversized rubber seal that may cover this or the touch up work?

Thanks

Re: Door mirror wobble

It was spring loaded but the body of the door was putting pressure on the spring and was keeping the spring from extending out enough. A few washers resolved it. Thanks!

Paint bubbles around headlights

Hello my car has a really beautiful paint job on the bonnet however both headlights have these paint bubbles. One side has cracked. I’m skeptical that rust is the issue because the bonnet was repainted about a year ago and there are generally signs of a nice job on it. I presume this issue is either...

Door mirror wobble

Hello. My door mirror wobbles quite a bit above the mounting base. I’ll have to take my door apart soon to replace a faulty new window regulator. If there is a way to tighten the mirror I will be able to do that at that time.
Thanks

Thank you. I have requested a new replacement regulator from the vendor. No amount of fidget work was going to help.

Thanks
