Im trying to get my 1973 UK spec car to run better. I'm rebuilding the Strombergs. Is there a definitive figure for how far below the bridge to set the jets? The rebuild instructions from Burlen say "as you found them" but mine look different to each other (have not used the vernier yet). I have fou...

Thanks Wolfgang. I need to investigate the idle when hot fully - it was hunting a little but that could be due to the rebuilt carbs requiring balancing plus so far I have not run it with the air box (and various vents) reinstalled.

Hi Bill Thanks for the help. That makes sense so I will focus on the chokes. I did rebuild the choke on one carb and the little holes were slightly obstructed. I will take a look at the choke on the other side. Also I will check the adjustment of the rebuilt choke - not sure I have got the cable as ...

Thanks - yes I had another go and was able to get a c spanner in it. Not as hard as I thought once I knew it was possible!

Hi. I’m just starting to tinker with a Series 3 fhc. I believe it’s a 1973 in Uk spec. First job is to service the Stombergs I assume the carbs can be removed with the manifold still on the car but I’m having difficulty accessing the 4th nut (lower inner side ie nearest the other carb).
