Re: Washer motor. AGAIN

I too removed my old faulty motor from my 1968 S1.5 and removed the associated bottle inlet pipe,i kept the motor housing with its wiring connectors and put a small submersible pump in, from the outside no one can really tell and it cost only a few pounds and works well

Re: heating controls - dumb Q!

Pushed in is heat on, i too thought it was counter intuitive, and the label does not help. I rarely need the heat on in my car so i am mostly driving with the lever pulled out.

Re: Car cover recommendations

I was thinking of paying £120 plus for a new indoor cover, the union jack cover above is fab…but…Reading Auto express reviews of indoor and outdoor covers, the best value indoor was Cosmos, available from Amazon, i just bought it in green for only £31 , i dont think you can go wrong with a recommend...

Re: Perfect Weather drive your E Type!

Replaced my 74C rated thermostat on Saturday with an 82C one and took my 68 S1.5 OTS out on Sunday for a nice long drive, hood down of course, outside temp was about 4C (40F) and it was a great drive, sun was out and the heater now almost made my legs warm. No salt been applied here yet so far this ...

I used these

I dont have the precise length to hand, but i believe its about 40mm, but they can be a bit longer without causing any issues

Re: Zeus Brakes

I have read before that in Germany brake pipes must be steel and not made from copper or alloy. Is it possible the tester objected to the brake pipes to the Zeus calipers rather than the actual calipers? Hard to imagine a tester refusing to accepted calipers that Have pass the rolling road braking t...

Re: Electrical part Identity

You will see on the diagram fuses 1 and 2 are fed from the rocker switches for the lights. If your main beam flash is working as you say then i would suspect the dipper switch is faulty or if not then the rocker switches for the lights are faulty. The rocker switches are notoriously unreliable and r...

Re: Electrical part Identity

you ask about relays?? There are no relays on the main lights, unless your car has been modified. I had assumed you were using the wiring diagrams that are in the Series 2 handbook, or in the knowledge section of this forum? http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=700&sid=54315c33f9aaac4132500...

Re: Electrical part Identity

I very much doubt it could be. This is the 3aw relay that simply drives the ignition light only. Good luck with your investigations

Re: Left/right conversion help

Is it the indicator or ignition switch he struggles with to rotate or both? On my S1.5 it really was very easy, so perhaps a PO has done something that prevents the easy rotation swap as described in the guidance. As part of my LH to RH conversion, i rotated the the ignition switch and also rotated ...

Re: Series 1 insulation on floors

I too recommend dynamat for sound deadening then onto it add 1/2” dynaliner closed cell foam on floors under the carpet and use 1/4” on tunnel for comfort, heat insulation and more sound suppression, i did this on my S1.5 roadster, very pleased with the results. Used behind seats and in my boot too....
