Re: washer bottle help

I also had a problem with the washer on my '69. The nice thing about this model is that there's a plastic cover which hides the actual pump. If you carefully disassemble the cover, you can remove the Lucas pump and fit a generic part from your local parts store. As long as it fits under the cap, nob...

Ok but don't take it too seriously because 1" UNF has 14 tpi, not 12 as they say.

I only want to get involved here to this extent: 1"-12 UNF is correct. This is the odd size that Jaguar used for their oil filters from the S3 XJ6 to the eight cylinder motors.

Re: Radiator hose kit

Rather than using vaseline or soap to install new hoses, the safest bet is to use undiluted antifreeze. It's as slippery as any of these other choices, and guaranteed to be 100% compatible.

Re: S2 fhc - aircon renovation

The only challenge with S2 air conditioning is the plastic case of the underdash unit. The vents are available, but the fascia is often in deplorable condition, and no replacements are available. If yours is serviceable and if the switch is in place with both knobs, then you're in good shape. Be sur...

Re: Air Conditioning/Engine Heat in Cabin

If you have all the bottom shields fitted in the engine compartment, the transmission tunnel becomes a primary path for hot air exiting the engine bay. As fitted from the factory, there's a large wad of foam rubber on top of the transmission. It cuts down noise, but also cuts down on heat by restric...
