Hey Tim Wood
Sounds like good advice & I most likely will be doing the same thing.
Thanks

Re: Longhorn (Cow Horn) Transition Exhaust
Hi Malcom Agee with you completely. To each his/her own. For some strange reason, my 1.5 Series car were fit with them. Perhaps it was the transition to the Series 2 or there were extras in the Parts bin. I believe they are original to the car but they may have replaced the factory close pipes durin...

Longhorn (Cow Horn) Transition Exhaust
Howdy E Type Lovers My 1968 Series 1 FHC LHD came with the “Longhorn” exhaust. It is my understanding that this widened-pipe exhaust was fitted to Series II cars due to the reconfigured bumper/taillights. I think it’s ugly and not streamlined so plan on replacing them with a stainless Series 1. One ...

Re: Greetings From Whidbey Island Washington, USA
Greetings UK ers, Thanks for the proper English corrections. The “right vs wrong” side of the road will always be in debate. Having driven in the UK, Australia & New Zealand I can attest that’s it quite a challenge & not for the faint of heart. However one can get accustomed to anything if you face ...

Re: Greetings From Whidbey Island Washington, USA
Thanks for all the well wishes. Signature has been updated. Your thoughts on restoring a vehicle after it has been ignored for many years hits home. I recently purchased a 1965 Corvair Monsa convertible from a friend. He assured me all it needed was a battery and maybe a tuneup. Sure. Many $$$ later...

Thanks Carsten. Very new here. What are overrides ?
The chrome bolt/screw is a excellent idea.

Front & Rear Chrome Tube Bumpers
IMO these add on bumpers do not add anything to the Series 2 cars. They’re a distraction to the beautiful lines of the EType. It’s my understanding that these were an option on the Series. On the 1968 FHC that I’m considering purchasing, I noticed that they are fastened with two screws on both sides...

Howdy From Washington State, Brand new to the forum. Sure looks like a great group of enthusiasts. Love Jaguar E Types. My second car at 21 was a 1963 Coupe which I unfortunately had to sell to finance college. Presently I have my eye on a 1968 E Type (series 2) Coupe in British Racing Green with Bl...
