Re: fumes from dipstick hole

Thanks Christopher, that would make perfect sense as the car is only started and not driven during this winter. How can I approach a fix to this?

Re: Wiper wiring help needed

Had to find it myself. Just in case someone else finds themselves in the same situation, the answer is, there is an earth that is attached to the mounting for the washers. Wiring diagrams only tell you so much, trying to locate some of them for me was the toughest part.

Re: Wiper wiring help needed

Success, I got them going. Turns out there was no earth. Next question ... on the wiper motor, where exactly does that black lead actually earth to on the car??

Re: Wiper wiring help needed

Thank you Tony, you're a life saver. Yes I've been systematically trying to sort out my electrics. Everything worked until I had work done on my engine. Previously the car had been sitting for 40 years and has undergone a year of recommissioning . Ive gotten everything back working except the wipers...

Re: 123 distributer wiring from the fuse

Thanks a million for your help John and Steve, I'm having great "fun" trying to bring this car back to life. It sat in the Arizona desert, unmoved for 40 years so apart from the odd scorpion, im coming across all sorts of challenges I had not initially envisaged. So to introduce myself to you, Im Do...

Re: 123 distributer wiring from the fuse

sorry I thought they were all wired the same, it's the bluetooth one and is currently wired as that diagram, but as I said I had read on the forum here, that people recommended ignoring the 123 diagram and connect it directly to the fuse board, which kinda leads me back to my original question

Re: 123 distributer wiring from the fuse

Thanks, but what is the blue wire? I was sure that was earth. The black wire has been on the negative side of the coil showing 12v on the meter, the red on the positive also showing 12v. This why im totally confused . I read it on here that it was better to run the 123 on a fuse not the coil

123 distributer wiring from the fuse

Im having problems with my distributer. It was working fine from the coil but now won't start the engine unless I send power directly from the battery. If I were to wire it directly to the fuse board do I connect the black and red wires to the same source?

Re: Electrical part Identity

Thanks, I'll have a look at that but so far ive been hopeless at reading the wiring diagrams. I think its the cable that feeds the fuses as there is no power going into the fuse muchness passing through, hence my query at what and where from the fuses are fed.

Re: Electrical part Identity

Progress Update This is strange, Ive got power going into both side and headlight switches and the side lights work. When I put the meter to the feed for fuses 1 and 2 there is no power going into them. Is the power meant to travel from the switch into the fuse? Where does the wires when leaving the...

Re: Electrical part Identity

Thanks for that.... yeah im having no luck finding the source of the problems, as I said there is no power going to the fuse for the dipped lights. The parking lights, back lights work fine. If I hit the flashed headlights they work too but nothing from the dipped lights or headlights. When they wer...
