To echo David, immersing the nylon pipe end in a mug filled with hot water from a boiled kettle worked well for me….its not easy….but it will work

I dont know what price the Rob Beare tool is but they come up for sale on eBay and i believe SNG and others also sell them….have a look around…second hand is just fine

Hi guys Thanks for the replies….. It was bought new from one of our most well known suppliers and lasted 2 years on the road….not happy at all..if this had let go at speed the results would have been far worse..multiple instances of damage and who knows what else… Have bought one of the more expensi...

Hi guys
I used one gasket in the end as the cam covers were virtually flat….and I need to use the car on Friday…let’s see what wellseal on all sides does and I will report back
If it still fails then I may try the black winns gasket method….!

Thanks guys…SNG are out of stock for the Cometic type with no know delivery date..I have a couple of spare sets of the typical ones so I might try doubling up the gasket with wellseal and try it

Evening all
I have a gentle persistent oil leak which eminates from the covers…..apart from wellseal on the gaskets is there any other method of sealing that you chaps utilise please
i am reticent to tighten the nuts further as they are already nipped enough I think

Forgot to add, the old battery was dropping from around 12.6 V to something in the region of 8 to 9 V initially when we did some cranking tests…I checked all the wires behind the dash and thickened a couple of them, also changed the relay unit I had used for the ignition relay upgrade modification a...

Thanks everyone…I borrowed Marek’s Optima 4.2RTR battery today and what a difference…it’s too snug a fit to be used, so I have just order the RTR3.7 version which is around a cm shorter and 730CCA compared to the 817 Either way it’s a big difference from the 550 I have currently Should be here Tuesd...
