Re: Wiring block
Thanks for the input. Will look closely at the one wire to see if it is actually two ends of same wire.

Wiring block
I ran into another problem as I was assembling the diaphragm parts during installation of Monocoque lights. The connector block disintegrated and I bought a new one BUT I realized that a number of black wires (ground ?) were not connected to the block although one was. In the attached photo, you can...

adhesive advice for diaphragms that hold headlights
I am in the process of installing a Monocoque covered headlight system in my 69. Chuck provides a nice replacement kit which includes new diaphragms. I have discovered that the original (and the replacement) diaphragms don't fit snuggly against the bonnet and fenders even with the little flanges tha...

Wiring questions
Still trying to figure out "glitches" on my 69. Can't figure out where the red wire with the green stripe is supposed to hook up (center of photo). It is clearly part of the wiring harness but it is not long enough to reach anything but the back of the wiper toggle switch. Also their is a purple wir...

Re: wiring questions
Thanks. I agree that PO might have wired something in there and then took it out. The red wire with the light green stripe appears to be original since it emerges from a bundle of wires wrapped in electrical tape. It is extremely close to the windshield wiper switch. But it doesn't "snap on" the con...

wiring questions
In trying to get things functioning like my fan motors, windshield wipers, and horn, I have been playing with fuses and such. Ran into a couple of wires that I have no idea where they go. The short red/green wire appears only long enough to attach to the windshield wiper switch but the female connec...

head bolt torques
I want to check the head bolt torques on my 1969 XKE. About the only thing I have found is that 54 is called for on early 4.2 whereas 58 is the number for late 4.2 liter engines.
How do I know if I have an early versus late engine?
Thanks

Headlight covers for my 69 XKE
I am rather new to the site and hope I haven't missed anything about the current state of the art on retrofitting covered headlights on Series 2 models. Older posts reference designs by Marek and Wahl. I am assuming they are currently available but haven't seen any comments. Would love to get some i...
Hi
I live in East Tennessee in the USA. I previously owned a 1962 roadster in the early 1970's but family constraints led me to sell it. I have been looking for a running restoration for a while and finally acquired this 1969 beauty. Looking forward to visiting the site often. https://i.postimg.cc/wvm4...
