Re: Missing 2 litres of oil
Don't know if this helps but I recently read a Q and A by I think Ken Jenkins where it was stated that some e types were fitted with an incorrectly marked dipstick at the factory giving a low reading on the stick even though the correct amount of oil had been put in.

Re: Boot Pops Open
Mine used to pop at every bump. Looking at it found that T shaped cut out in housing preventing full movement of latch so boot only holding on a sliver. Widened slot and no further problems. As insurance Wilko sell a keyring chain for about 2 pounds shorten this and with a couple of split rings you ...

Re: 1963 oil pressure
I had the same problem on my 655 car. Was told could be weak oil pressure relief spring. Changed but no better. Put on wet gauge and had factory spec pressures. Turned out to be the gauge. Best advice - don't do anything major until you have checked the pressure with a wet gauge.

Re: Roof/Hood/Spar - to - Door - to Windscreen Adjustments
Didn't think mine was too bad although the picture reveals a fault but as it doesn't leak i will leave well alone! I just wish I could stop the leaks from the doors onto the cills. Does anyone have any tips on this as I am running out of ideas?

Re: 4.2 cooling mystery
My e type ran cool but in traffic got hot and would not cool down even with the electric fan on. Tried all the usual and air coming back off the fan. Turns out the fan was running backward but the air it pushed forwards was bouncing off the radiator so giving the wrong impression. Try getting the fa...
