Re: V12 Engine man

Update, my local garage has had a couple of attempts to sort the rough running. I believe he has changed all sorts of electrical items, coil, distributor cap blah blah. He has also spent a lot of time on the carburetors , diaphragm changed and other stuff. The car ran really nice from Northwich to C...

Re: Car jacking

Reading above and correct me if i am wrong the only tool needed really to remove the spinner is an appropriate hammer, loosen the spinner a little, jack the car up tap off.
Or, are things not that simple????????

Re: Car jacking

Ah spinner. My wheels on the S3 are spinners. I thought a hammer was the normal tool to use to release (shows how new i am to this E-Type lark)
So that tool you have Chris, where would i get one please. :hammer:

Re: Cover for car

A neat and tidy workshop/garage is the sign of a person with a sick mind
Cannot advise on covers as my cars are garaged but not covered.
Enjoy the new engine

Re: Car jacking

Bought a scissor jack off Amazon recently. 90mm to 440mm lift with a ratchet. £25 new. It has a slotted top. I will carry a similar piece of "packing" to above. Tried it out and all appears fine, Also feels extremely good quality. The bonus is it fit's nice and snugly under the boot board in my V12 ...

Tracker

Trying to sort out which tracker type system thing to fit. It's a minefield. I had set my mind on a Tracker Monitor with 3 years subscription. Weighing up costs and protection. Then Trackerfit came back and said such and such is a best seller??????? One doesn't know if they are promoting a system ge...

Re: V12 Engine man

Thanks guys, most helpful.

I have heard and seen mechanics point to the amplifier.

I will get the ignition system checked out.
If my car has the Opus system i would want it changing to a noted reliable one.
Which system is known to be the most reliable.

Re: V12 Engine man

Update. Got the car back after the village garage collected it. Turns out the cooling fans did not cut in as a wire was not connected???? It does have an override switch to put the fans on at will. The overheating was minor and i had the sense not to re start or try to run it after it cut out. The r...

Re: V12 Engine man

I am not mechanically minded in the least. The day i picked it up (last wed) it broke down on me. Got it to local garage on the back of recovery. Turns out it was "An electrical issue". Then today it overheated and cut out, turns out one has to put the cooling fans on manually?????? It does not tick...

Re: Insurance

I was in a rush to insure a newly acquired V12 Roadster after buying the car from auction. Went on to the compare sites, gave my valuation and ended up with L.V. I'm happy as we have a couple of other cars with them.
Interesting reading above posts.
