Re: slave master cylinder

I thik the only working version is to use a spring, and a rod long enough to be hold back by the spring AND also leave the piston just a tad free play. Why ? Because the version without the spring and the short rod will wear out the bearing, as it will always sit in the clutch. I tried, it does, the...

My 16 yr old son thinks about doing a journey to London...

... I was a bit suprised. He today said he thinks about a one week London travel with his best schoolmate, both aged 16, this autumn. Flying by plane from Hannover and back the same way (of course zero drivers licenses, but an iphone and an apple watch :-) ). I am not really feeling confident - I kn...

Get a proper slingshot (hint: youtube: slingshot channel), and end the pidgeons...

Mao said: kill one, educate 100.

Or so it works... pidgeons may need 2-5 till they are „educated“...

Re: Acoustic Cameras

I do live in town, along a quit street which nightwise is visited by hooligans in their AMGs and BMWs, lets not forget the 50+ dentist or lawyer on his Harley. If you can‘t get your little friend back to his job, buy a harley ? So it seems. Its often no fun living here, and I highly appreciate these...

Re: Camshaft bearing failure 4.2

There are no marks in line - shape like ————-.

What we see is dots, singular, roundish.

This means it was a local damage, nothing to do with rotation. This leaves.... acid.

Re: Camshaft bearing failure 4.2

I would think it possibly stood still for a LONG time on old oil. This contains acids, which then eat holes in the soft metal.

Re: S1.5 open headlights too covered

Monocoque metalworks sell a kit. You can do it with a repaint and a bit of welding.

I did it.

Re: How do I change the headlamps on my series 1 E-Type?

It gets even better. If you only loosen the three chrome ring self tappers by about 2 turns, you can rotate the chrome ring by about 5 -8 mm, then it comes off. The holes are keyhole - shaped to allow this.

Re: How to set camber, caster and toe-in DIY ?

I have now looked at the values on this forum, and I‘ ll set it to: Camber: - front: -1/2 degs (top of tyre inlined inside, towards cylinder head). - rear: -3/4 degs (top of tyre inclined inside) Castor: - front: vertical axis inclined backwards by 2 degrees. What I am not sure about - gunson‘s inst...

Re: I have seriously improved my E-Type!

I wanted something made from iron and look like it was made in the midlands :-)

In my car, the plastic part was missing, I could not find it at SNG, so a quick thought and „gimme the welding gun“- and thats it.

And afterwards I thought you might like it...

I have seriously improved my E-Type!

Hi, I have improved my E-Type by inventing a special bolt to fix the lower part of the air dustbin: This is the upper side of the bolt: UNF: https://up.picr.de/35695486un.jpeg This is the lower side: UNC and the seam I made: https://up.picr.de/35695489qi.jpeg Main idea was to invent a bolt which can...

Maybe a slight variation of this one is an idea: I heard of a guy who put a remote control on his bicycle, and fitted the payload of an airbag in the saddle !
