Re: Correct wipers and arms for S1 2+2 ?
Hi all, I found when cleaning them that they are all different. 1 is straight, pin for clip at the end of the arm, chromed steel. 1 has a bend at the end, pin for clip at the end of the arm, chromed steel. Both have many numbers printed inside. One has BR 546431, 610251, 618679, 677173 AUS 138607 GE...

Correct wipers and arms for S1 2+2 ?
Morning, I got this set of wipers and arms with my car. Are these the correct items ? If so, I‘ll clean and polish and re-fit. Blades will get new rubber of course. One arm however has no spring / new one needed, one misses the clamp / will use the one from its springless brother, if possible. One o...

Hi Mitch,
Yes there are holes. I thought there should be self- tapping screws ? Not bolts plus nuts ?
Kind regards,
Carsten

Re: Status Quo
Hi, I still could not detect where those two are missing. Maybe I‘ll find that out later, at 180km/h…. :wow: Then, I have 2 different rear bonnet small grilles - one with tabs to hold screws, which is slightly less shiny then the other one which does not have those tabs / which one to use ? Meanwhil...

Re: Status Quo
Ok front right complete. Took me another 3 hours. Sooo fiddly. Some X years ago I put all the bits in boxes, one box per front bumper part etc. Now, I found 2 identical bolts with captive nuts- anyone an idea where these should go ? I am sure they are E- Type. All the other parts where there - and I...

… Uh well… I had to restore a Unimog in between, finish the Centaur to sell it to a museum to finance a house roof (partially), overhaul a modern mercedes 5spd automatic box (no fear…), maintain an MX5… so this is where I am now. Felix will be 21 in June, and he keeps nagging me to let him drive… I‘...

Re: Assembling Britax Roof / broken edges
Hi Steve, Okay thanks for the input - I wrote them- maybe they have some remains. I found an MGB roof on facebook, 150 pounds looking similar, but of course can‘t confirm. And wrecking another complete item makes no real sense. Current plan is to use a Dremel tool, and make room for a new tab. This ...

Assembling Britax Roof / broken edges
Morning, I started assembly of my Britax roof, and now it seems I finally need a solution. The roof features 4 round alloy (Mazac? Monkey metal ?) edges. On two of them the tabs are broken. There‘s almost certainly no source for these I guess anymore. So, what would you say- I thought I should maybe...

Furthermore,
I believe that Jaguar / Mr. Heynes had a very close look under the bonnet of a Citroen 11CV/ see the arm and torsion bar setup… I think is kinda close.

Re: Restoration finish of suspension wishbones
I had mine yellow (gold) zinced some 10 yrs ago. Since doing that I am asking myself wether they might have become brittle, afaik zinc‘ing can make bolts brittle, and you cannot get a 12.9 zinced bolt for that reason. I was also told I should have tempered them just after zincing but now it would be...

I have to correct myself- say „Dino oil is „ finite ressource“ but we can brew E-fuels, at cost, and make our own“.
