Re: Buying MWS wheels

Which tyres do you run on them ? 205 ? Would you say steering is heavy ? I have the standard rack in my S1, no power steering. And its a 2+2 so its a tad heavier.

Re: Buying MWS wheels

Hm,

This is an MWS wheel I guess ?

Maybe only this size and for S1 cars is MwS because Dayton do not make curly hub wheels as you suspected ?

Re: Buying MWS wheels

Well, it seems this ist not the case this time - this rim is 396 Euros list price at SC and at the moment 360 E at SNG, so SNG is a tad cheaper if you would not get a rebate, then multiply by 4. That is if I did not made a mistake in my research....! I think I‘ll ask at SNG as well. I am a very happ...

Buying MWS wheels

Hi all, A german parts supplier made me an offer for a set of 4 rims for my S1. I asked for chromed rims, no silver paint, but also not the very expensive full stainless ones. I asked for XW455 MWS in 15x5, to keep the car as it came in 1966. I am not sure which tyres I will buy, I feel that Micheli...

Re: Cable protector in footwell on Series 2, but not 2+2

I had to take it out whilst searching for the front right indicator power supply, hence the opportunity for a set of pics for you. I had to dig in this area....deep. I think suede green leather did come with GREY vinyl, as you can see on the side protector, my car did. I think my seats were actually...

Re: Custom wheels series 1

... I have just found Mr. Hallewell´s Website, and written a mail- maybe he could re-furbish my old wheels ? New ones in chromed are around 400 Euros each, stainless about 500. Mr. Hallewell seems to advertize them on his website for 325 /chrome and 375 / Stainless?, in UK pounds. Now if I only had ...

Re: Custom wheels series 1

So, would you recommend a mix of 15x5.5 on the rear and 15x5 on the front ?

I have two cars with extreme differences front - rear: The Centaur is 14 inch rear and 10 inch front (YES), and the Smart is I think the same 15" but variies in width (175 to 145 rear to front)

Re: Custom wheels series 1

Hi, What was the standard rim size ? 15 x 5“ ? I am still not sure what I should do. On mine there is no terrible rust, I guess they could be overhauled. I could remove the tyre locally, maybe cut out any spokes minus 5 to leave the hub there, and send a pair of them to England to have them re - wor...

Re: Advice for anyone wishing to import a car from overseas.

Excellent. It becomes even more complicated with Citroens because they will lay down flat. You always get fork marks from lifters underneath on those. Best you can try is someone to drive them into the box and only YOU drive it out.

Re: Front right indicator dead / help needed

Solved. I found the Y connection on the end of the indicator stalk wires. Problem, no connection from this point into the thick loom. I used a needle to follow the green-white wire up from the indicator just below the Voltage regulator, and then inside the car up to the door opening (close). The 2+2...

Re: Front right indicator dead / help needed

Hi Mark,

That‘s the point - I am already tracing it back, and current-ly I am at the 8 pin connector. Where is the next connection in the row? Under the dash I suppose ?

Front right indicator dead / help needed

All, I am now putting the front electrics back together, and I have it all working - except for the front right indicator. Front left indicator is alive via a green cable with a red stripe, front right should be green with a white stripe (I guess). Now, where is the indicator relay - I think under t...

They‘re called „amco bars“. Its your decision, most I guess remove them. Either fit new overriders or put a chromed flat - head bolt into the holes.

Re: Series 1 bonnet wiring loom fixation points ?

Hi Paul, Ok thats it then. The bonnet picture you posted shows three sideway holes mostly even spaced like x..x..x. Thats a Series 1 part. Spacers needed because it is further back / nearer towards the radiator. The one you adapted is like mine, like x....x.x. Thats an S2 part. No spacers needed bec...
