Re: Electroplating kits - any good?

Hi Phil, As you may have noticed in the 'Similar Topics' section at the foot of the page, Chris Connor wrote a dummies guide to electroplating almost 8(!) years ago. http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1931 Unfortunately the accompanying pictures were hosted on Photobucket and are now missi...

Re: Britain 1985 vs. France 1971

I remember taking a trip to the Isle of Cumbrae with three pals when C5s were a new thing. One of the cycle shops in Millport had a small fleet of them for hire. Three of us got C5s and one of our party, who had just treated himself to a new Escort XR3i, was designated our emergency recovery man. Th...

Re: 150 MPH Number plate

I almost forgot the best one (or pair); along Chelsea embankment, opposite the house boats, there used to be two cars; and Aston Martin and a Bentley if I recall. They were "2 BE" and "NOT 2B". And a pair of licence plates were once cited in a divorce case; B00 800 and 800 B00. I never heard whethe...

Re: E Type CAD model?

There's a 3D model of an S1 OTS available for fellow SolidWorks users here: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=15163 You should be able to spin the model about in the 'Preview 3D' box by holding down your left mouse button. The back axle etc. needs a bit of a rework...

Plane Resurrection

I've watched the first two episodes of 'Plane Resurrection' on Netflix and reckon it may appeal to many users of this forum. https://uk.newonnetflix.info/info/80133317/s https://youtu.be/2u_hY8GOiuE It reminds me of the old question, "How do you make a small fortune out of aviation?" There is an iPad app called My Car Check. You just put a number in and it displays the make etc, its not showing on there.... I can't find that app . Is it definitely called My Car Check? There is definitely one called 'mycarcheck'. My car has been off the road since the pre-SORN days and its reg d...

I'm pretty sure there's a better location. I'd measure carefully before cutting. You've talked me into it Eric. I've measured my gearbox and the position of the speedo drive relative to the oil filler appears to be as shown below https://s25.postimg.cc/vutkyvogf/Gearbox.jpg The big question is of c...

Thanks Gents,

It looks like I'll have to cut an access hole on the RHS of the tunnel too. I wonder if this was done by the dealer service departments as and when it became necessary to change a speedo drive? If so, perhaps David knows of a service bulletin that gives its location?

Regards,
Jim
