Re: Overdrive S3

Hi Neil

One of the earlier posts was a reference to my questions from a couple of months ago when I was planning to fit an O/D box - it's all in now and working so feel free to message and ask anything - happy to help.

Cheers

Re: Building an Engine Test Bed

Hello there

Looks neat and you're welding looks good!

It's not easy to see on the photo but the rear mount at the back of the gearbox is rubber too, like the front?

Just thinking they all need to be either solid or flexible, but not a mixture.

Re: Gearbox removal with engine in situ

Hello there I took out an auto box and fitted a 4 speed OD box a few weeks ago without removing the engine or undoing the picture frame. Car was up on a 2 post ramp though. Auto box came out easily. To re-fit the manual box undid the engine mounts though and barred the engine forward as far as possi...

Re: Torsion bars

Hi good morning Going back you your original point that the handling was horrendous, can you be more specific about the problem? If you have a load of worn out joints in the wishbones, dampers and ARB you'll have so much compliance that's got to be resolved before you make "upgrade" changes. A small...

Re: Clutch master cylinder spacer

Hi Stuart Thanks I appreciate that. I'll try it at 11.4mm and see where that puts the clutch pedal - I can always make another slightly different thickness if need be but I have a starting point. When I get my master cylinder I can check those other dimensions and draw it up... Again, thanks for the...

Clutch master cylinder spacer

Hello there I'm after a bit of help please 😁 I'm converting my series 3 to manual and I see in various parts drawings that there's a spacer fitted between the clutch master cylinder and the pedal box. I've had a shop around and see the usual places are on back order and I found one on eBay (photo at...

Re: SNGB Web Feedback

Hi Julian

That will be good when you do and I think it's really doable as you have the relationships between car - section - part already mapped so going part - section - car should be easy for a genius πŸ˜‚

In the meantime I'll phone up and prey I get someone dressed 😳

Thanks and stay safe

Re: SNGB Web Feedback

Hello there, I've got a suggestion for some functionality that would have really helped me in the last week or so on your site... If you don't know exactly which section the bit you want is illustrated you have the facility to do a search. I've found that although I can find a list of sometimes mult...

Re: Fitting a 4 spd box with OD into an auto V12

Hi Ole Thanks for your very helpful list - I've got some of those items covered off ok, some I kicked a little way down the road as a problem for future Simon and the rest I'm getting on with! I've had the box and OD serviced and have assembled all the bits to physically fit it but I'm still short o...

Re: Fitting a 4 spd box with OD into an auto V12

Hi Marek

Thanks very much - will do...

I hadn't really considered the wiring side of it much till now but literally just bought a new 4th switch as that one looks past it's best.

Best wishes and stay safe

Re: Fitting a 4 spd box with OD into an auto V12

Hi Steve, Thanks so much - just had a quick skim through your link and it looks like everything I need... Probably going to tackle it next weekend (at least get the auto box out) Btw forum looks good so far! I'll keep an eye out and contribute in my niche if anything relevant comes up! Take care and...

Fitting a 4 spd box with OD into an auto V12

Hello there I hope you're all keeping well... I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who has swapped the auto box for the jaguar 4speed with overdrive, please. I've tried to read up on previous posts so I hope I don't ask old or daft questions :) I'm pretty much ready to do the swap ( got the box and...
