Re: Coolant Recomendations?
As I cannot find bluecol concentrate anymore at local motor factors, I looked on the web. I found at a good price for 5l of bluecol at 16.99 at a web store called My Motorworld. Much to my suprise at checkout I did not ask for a Mike Brewer air freshener or a discount but happy they applied one. Jus...
Re: Hello!
Hi Welcome, I am not far away in Leicestershire Was the photo taken at Classic wheels in Rutland in 2022. I was there with my S1. May see you at some local shows. Ashby classic and vintage vehicle meets on Facebook is a good way of finding local events and classic meets. https://i.postimg.cc/cJdZ77H...

Re: Pattern chrome parts poor fit?
My 67 OTS was completely restored 20+ years ago by the previous owner, but the new chrome insert trim in the lower windscreen seal to the body, was never fitted. But supplied loose, i have tried to get a few classic car garages to fit this part but all have tried/declined saying it does not fit. So ...

Re: E-Type S1 wiper system, help needed
If you can repair it yourself then fine. But if not I recommend Steve Hunt's services, he knows these motors inside out and made a good job rebuilding my S1 with wiper parking switch which burnt out, came back better than new. For contact details he advertises lucas wiper motors on ebay with his nam...

JLR selling off cars and pedal cars from the "Warwickshire collection" Looks like the cars they purchased from Dr James Hull. Some Jaguars in there. All offered at no reserve.

Re: Bonnet spring adjustment
Thanks all for your comments.
I checked the screws and nuts for tightness and found the one at the top of the vertical section very loose. Nipped both sides up a little, now the bonnet stays up.
Will keep an eye on it, and may replace the springs at a later date.

Bonnet spring adjustment
Hi, Looking for a bit of advice. My bonnet when opened would stay in position. For obvious reasons it started when I replaced the electric fan from a kenlowe mounted on a steel frame in the nose of the bonnet to a revotec mounted behind the radiator. The bonnet is close to staying open or if it does...

Re: Wiper Motor rebuild
I had my S1 wiper motor rebuilt by your "ebay supplier" Steve hunt and in his defence he did an excellent job. It looked brand new and has performed faultlessly since. I also spoke to him and his knowledge on lucas wiper motors is second to none. So something strange here. I struggled to follow the ...

Re: coil, ballast resistor??? 67 with points,
In the interests of reliability of your completed car I would think that the cost of a new Lucas coil for it would be a wise investment. Price in the UK would be less than £20. Also if keeping a points system invest in new rotor arm, points and condenser from the Distributor Doctor, or new ...

There are "true series 1" Etypes on an E Suffix plate. My uk S1 was built and registered in May 67 and therefore on an E Suffix.

Re: S1 Original brake performance
How old are your tyres? Old tyres that have gone hard but with lots of tread will give the impression of brakes easily locking up as they are frequently the overlooked part of braking performance on an E Type.

Re: Remote rear brake bleeder install-SNG or Fosseway
Thanks for the tips on fitting this kit. I fitted it today, with the car supported on axle stands under the diff cage, with wheels removed. So the suspension was unsupported. Looking at access to the caliper nipple, I could not see how it is possible to fit with front dampers in place. More space is...

Re: Which 185 tyre: Dunlop or Pirelli or Michelin ?
I am imminently changing my old 205 Bridgestones for 185's and will be paying Dougal a visit later this month. After much thought and budget consideration of all 185 options mentioned I have decided to go for the Pirrelli for their better performance and as these are what Jaguar Classic fit to the E...

Re: Remote rear brake bleeder install-SNG or Fosseway
I am following this thread as I purchased a Fosseway remote bleed kit last year and had reservations about fitting it so have been putting it off. Due to access with IRS in place, there is mention of releasing the dampers for access. Is this straight forward? As once I start the job I will need to c...

May not be to everyone's taste but standard of workmanship is excel...
