You could do what I did. Buy the SNG mirrors which have the correct angle arm then look on eBay for a set of original tex mirrors for a Ford Capri Consul Corsair Cortina MK1 etc swap the heads and sell the leftover to someone who has an old Ford and does not mid the black inserts. They are out...

I had the same issue, the headlamp I used was not ?made for an e-type? but is a high quality aftermarket 7 inch lamp with halogen bulb still in production today. I got over the problem by purchasing a second set of mountings from the local mini breaker (same part). I altered the silver ring in your ...

Purchase the olive from your local plumbing/gas supplier and not the usual suspects to save yourself the normal 500% mark up because it?s ?for an e-type?.

I had the same symptoms recently, it was the alternator relay on the back of the inner wheel arch next to the horn relay it was sticking, just pulled the top off and gave it a clean all sorted. Easy to test just pull the wires off and plug onto a spare relay (modern plastic one will do).

Took mine off, it?s in the box of ?bits that are not going back on?, I converted to alloy pulleys and a multi groove modern belt which made fitting the megajolt sensor a whole lot easier.

Thanks for the info I had thought about auction but never having done it I was unsure I guess this forum would probably be a good place to start. Looking through the bills I spent over 50K and put in lots of upgrade so that the car would be very useable while retaining a standard appearance, current...

Advise I don't want!

Just finished a four year restoration the car is looking great, about to spend the winter tinkering making sure everything is perfect ready to get the most out of next year, when... I get an email from the boss (during my week off) "big changes on the horizon" not good news. I now find I have to sta...

I know of a barn with an un used Norton F1 rotary in it, but he won't sell. Or at least not last time I asked. I do have a 990 KTM super Duke that needs cleaning but that's only an hours project.

Seriously though I think the problem is I will need something to fill the time (about 50 hours a month). I?ve built many competition cars in the past and never had any reliability issues with those so I would hope this is no different and require little maintenance. I suspect the answer will be a bi...

Dogs chase cars.

We have all seen dogs chasing cars, the question is have they ever considered what they are going to do with it if they catch one. It will be four years in June since I started my restoration I should have it done before that, the trouble is the nearer I get to completion the more I think - Great bu...

I'm thinking the best plan of attack is to concentrate on re covering all the loose parts cant rails dash top, etc - because I can do this in the house where it's warm. (and I find it's always better to use adhesives in a confined space  ). Then when the weather improvers and the body of the ca...

Christmas tradition with a difference.

Over the past 40 odd years it has become a tradition for me to put everything aside for one week over Christmas and spend the time with my now aging aunt (it started with grandmother and moved down the generation) using the time to complete a difficult jigsaw, this gives us an excuse to spend a bit ...

Hi Mace,
Like yourself and Chris (cgarside) I am restoring a 4.2 series one from the US and converting to rhd. Two and a half years in and the end is in sight, just got the chrome back and the interior is on it's way.
Also like Chris I am also west of Preston (well north west ish).

Great news I was worrying over nothing, The sample is leather and good quality. Having had it looked at the conclusion is that being a poor commoner from up north I am not familiar with quality. Having been through the hides he had on the shelf I can confirm that the better the quality the less like...
