My thanks to all who responded to this post. I checked the vacuum and it's steady (no pulsing, indicating a problem in one cylinder) at about 13-14 inches, which corrected for 5,000 ft is about right. I had the same problem with my 1963 3.8 after a complete rebuild with new washers and clean seats. No matter how tight that I dared to torque them, they weeped. THEN . . .
