Re: height of brake and clutch pedals S1 4.2 1965

Yes, I rebuilt the pedal box and the pedals were almost level but look far to high with no adjustment possible. Moving the brake on the splines on the shaft dosn't alter the height . The brake stops by the pedal shaft touching the housing, you would think it would think it should be ok as it is stan...

height of brake and clutch pedals S1 4.2 1965

Hi just fitting pedal box and find the pedals to high (about 10 inch measuring straight back from the pedal to the bulkhead) The pedal box has no adjustment so how can I lower them they look wrong. I did not take this apart so I did not see it built up before.

Re: Oil pressure take off

Hi. yes plugs out even put oil in the top of the filter housing but no joy. I thought it may take a while because the engine has only just had oil put in until then it was completely dry after full rebuild (not me). I have put a little oil in the plug holes. I will try again tomorrow.

Re: Wiper parking adjuster

Done, I managed to feed it through the hole (after opening it up) with a very long pair of forceps . I want to try the wipers before the dash goes in but I have not found a motor yet. DL3 or DL3A I know its not correct but will the later round bodied motor fit .

Re: Series1 4.2L Horn Testing & Repair

The easy way to tell if the coil is duff is to use a meter set on ohms . This will tell you if you have continuity . then I would try individually using a fused feed from a 12v battery ,very often they just need adjusting its worth a try .If you want to send them to me I will do my best getting work...

Re: S1 rhd I am just fitting the brake lines

Just found out on this forum that the early S1 which this is had the brake line going on the bulkhead behind the engine . The later ones had a wider feed round the picture frame .

S1 rhd I am just fitting the brake lines

I have a kit that has a line from the master cylinder to the servo across the bulkhead behind the engine. Whe looking at photos on line there is a thicker line that is going across the picture frame. Is that a brake like or maybe Airton?

S1 8 pin connector holder mounting

Hi can anyone tell me how the 3 eared 8 pin socket mounts . I think it must mount on the frame somewhere. I can't seem to find it on the two main suppliers websites.
