Re: New member in Guadalajara
Hola, I used to stop by the Guadalajara Grille on the way back from surfing K38 in the Baja... First stop was Puerto Nuevo for some Langusta...good times! As usual, David is correct about the hardtop however the only thing I would add is that the clasps changed along the way. Yours appear to be the ...

Re: Hi output water pump?
Why do want a hi-er output water pump? You can achieve that just by altering the ratio of the pulley sizes. The only time you might conceivably want a higher output is when you are at idle. At any other time, the thermostat throws away the excess cooling capacity and simply recirculates a portion o...

Re: 3.07 ring play on carrier
Hello, In addition to the crown wheel bolt issue, the Dana 44 requires a special companion flange for the pinion or the use of an open yoke. The better solution imo, albeit more expensive, is to purchase a new 3.07 ring and pinion from Quaife as none of the aforementioned issues will be present. Reg...

"EDIT. I note with interest that SNGB now offer a kit with a roller thrust bearing, rather than the traditional carbon bearing. Given that it is almost always the thrust bearing that wears out first in an E Type, I wonder whether this might be a better choice. " Hello Andrew, Would you know the par...

Re: Differential case side bearings
Hi Colin, The Churchill SL 14-3 set of dies requires the SL 14 hand press... or at least the base for use with a shop press. When Steve mentioned a clamshell type puller, I think he was referring to something like this. Never tried one but they seem easier to use than the awkward Churchill set up. h...

Re: Hardtop latches -- S1 vs. S2
Hello Guido,
The difference is the S2 variants have thicker, more robust levers.
There shouldn't be an issue with fitment.
Regards,
Doug

I nearly sold to him, my flat floor coupe three summers ago...
He paid me a visit to look over the car and we discussed business over lunch.
I didn't like the way he kept mentioning William Heynes grandson whom he mentioned
with nauseating regularity was in his employ .

It's an interesting offering which I inquired about last summer.
It's a Getrag and it's rated @ 560Nm or 413 ft lbs
Here are the quoted ratios;
1.) 4.002
2.) 2.108
3.) 1.380
4.) 1.00
5.) 0.780
6.) 0.645

Re: 1967 E Type Question
I own 1967 E Type IE15538. Based on what I have read it is close to the end of Series 1 production. It has a Series 1 hood with covered head lights. It has all the other Series 1 characteristics except one. It has the small dual fans for the radiator like the Series 1 1/2. Is it likely(possible) it...

Re: Stromberg jet height
Im trying to get my 1973 UK spec car to run better. I'm rebuilding the Strombergs. Is there a definitive figure for how far below the bridge to set the jets? Hi, Over here it's recommended to set the jet .125 below the bridge. That's what I did on my old S1 XJ12 and it worked.... ok. If I ever have...

Re: Am I overheating?
Hi Paul, Thanks for your reply. I have checked that the fan is pulling through the radiator into the engine bay. As for the pump; I rebuilt it when I was building the engine, but it is not impossible that it has a problem. There are no strange noises though and it is turning ok so nothing internal ...
