Re: Alternator- Lightweight with integrated regulator

The two rated outputs (45/55amp) refer to hot and cold measurements, The 'cold' output is measured at 25°C ambient under the conditions you would normally see at startup and is about 10% - 15% higher than the 'hot' output which is rated at 93°C ambient. These measurements are ISO or SAE standards an...

Re: Alternator- Lightweight with integrated regulator

That one should work OK Rory. You can use any Denso alternator that is 55amp output (or indeed slightly higher) but we know this one fits physically so probably not worth going off piste.

Re: Add YouTube videos to your posts

Seems to be working for me. You did have a rogue second link which did not work and I deleted it to tidy things up.

Re: EDIS/Megajolt Ignition Support Thread

Sensor bracket needs to be rigid with no movement but you will need to adjust in two planes to get perfect alignment with the trigger wheel. The trigger wheel will most certainly need slots machined into it so it can be rotated to get the correct timing. The remaining brackets are simple and are jus...

Re: Snowfall issue?

That is odd Paul. My PC with an Intel i5 processor is showing 4% when viewing the Forum pages, same as on J-L. I will disable the fairy lights and let me know if the % drops.

Re: Snowfall issue?

Nothing to do with us Paul. We have upgraded the phpBB software to the latest version ans apart from the Xmas snow fall issue (now resolved) you should have no problems. Try opening the Windows resource monitor whilst viewing the Forum and a few others and make a note of the resource % and see what ...

Re: Grease Guns

I use grease cartridges in both an electric and air powered guns. Seem to work well with little mess. Make sure you buy one with a nozzle that firmly clips onto the nipple to avoid grease seeping out there. Also be aware that some of the guns will not accept the standard cartridges (they are usually...

Re: Snowfall issue?

Yes, the snowfall does appear to consume a lot of processing power. Anyway we have now moved on to "smashing the fairy lights" and the snowfall no longer hogs the CPU.

Re: Last Flat Floor 3.8 RHD FHC

Ignore the date of the SPB as they were sent out a few weeks after the change. The chassis numbers do tend to be accurate though otherwise it would have caused a headache for the Factory and the dealers.

Re: Footwell Vent upgrade

Angus nicked mine for a customer car before I could fit it so I can't help. He has just sent me a replacement but I doubt I will get round to fitting it until the weather gets warmer and they stop gritting the roads. No doubt Angus will be able to advise on fitting.

Rubber Stabiliser Mount

Early cars had a different Metalastic mount C18441. This was superseded by a stronger assembly C20217 for later cars. The tapped plate C19267 was also replaced by C20201.

OTS Hood sealing Pad

Early cars had rubber pads at the top of the screen pillars BD21098 and BD21099 secured with a self tapping screw. I have no idea when these were discontinued.
