Re: Champion WCX 600 bow tie caps

Mark The WC548 oval caps with ‘Champion’ embossed are available from Steadfast Cycles in the US for $8.75 each: http://tinyurl.com/oo7fcq513 The Green Spark Plug Co also sell the oval caps but they do not have the Champion logo. Ignore the photo on their page which seems to show the caps as being go...

Re: Greetings

The car appears in the Jaguar Drivers Club list of cars but no owners name. It has the VIN 1S2751. Try the JDC and see if they can help.

Re: What suspension do you have?

I can't argue with Eagle and what they produce however their choice of shocks is part of a much wider suspension, wheel, tyre and handling package - in other words they know what they are doing based on years of experience. You can't just bolt on a set of Ohlin shocks to any old E-Type and claim it ...

Re: What suspension do you have?

The best dampers and springs are the ones Jaguar used thanks to the thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of miles Norman Dewis spent testing. Anything else (e.g. Koni, Ohlins, GAZ etc) are put forward by armchair testers who believe the manufacturers hype or have studied the specification sh...

Re: Repro Marston radiator

I have the Radtec which works well. However having looked at the Fosseway it is a more accurate copy of the Marston. Functionally they are the same just that the detail on the Fosseway is better. Coolcat sell a Marston name tag to complete the assembly.

Julian Barratt has kindly agreed to sponsor the World Map of E-Types and it will now include the SNGB branding. All the existing map pins are there so please feel free to add your E-Type ...

Re: Bruce McLaren #15 E-type JD Classics

In his defence he was dealing with one of the premier classic car dealers in the world with an impressive CV. What he was not expecting was to be scalped on every purchase and sale with very high restoration and maintenance costs rolled in. Further he/JD was selling cars but taking others in p/x at ...

Although not directly related to the McLaren car as far as I know it is worth putting on record the ongoing Court case between Derek Hood/JD Classics and Mike Tuke. The first part of the action is concluded and is a very interesting and exciting read, albeit 37 pages long. The judgement has been pub...

Re: Tyre pressure

More over-steer which suits my driving style. I was reading Dennis Jenkinson's autobiography and he said that after driving his E-Type many thousands of miles through Europe he settled on 30psi front and 35psi rear which fairly closely matched my own observations. For the hell of it I tried 35psi in...
