Re: Relay position.

One near the battery is the horn relay, I don’t have the relay near the transmission tunnel but I think if you have aircon on your car it is for that.

Re: V12 Engine Instruction Manual

Hi the emissions set up depends on the model and year for where the connections go to the thermacs. On my 1973 car the RH unit goes to RH servo further along the air trumpet and the other to a T off the thermionic valve and the LH unit goes to the rear induction manifold and the LH servo valve In th...

Re: Manifold heat shield springs

Thanks Marek, so it is literally the spring that holds it. I have the induction manifolds and mud shields off currently so will see how easy it is to fit in situ.

What attaches the bracket or is it the spring that holds the bracket?

Hi Marek Yes I have the dash tops off the purple and white wire is coming from the loom which looks like it is from the switches with most terminating to join the loom down the RHS of the car (aerial sense, indicators etc) but cant see a purple and white wire in the bundle from the courtesy light. Courtesy light Wire routing S3 (RHD) OTS

I have a purple and white wire coming out behind the steering wheel/ speedo/rev counter area of the dash loom, I presume this must connect to the driver's side courtesy light but where would the routing of this be as I can't see a corresponding wire to connect to? It has a standard bullet connector....

Re: Routing of reverse light wires

Found the holes on both sides for anyone else looking with the rear lights out of the car in the inner void it is on the top face closest to bumper almost as far in as you can reach. Then use a piece of wire to feed through and drag the number plate wires and reverse lamp wire.

Re: Routing of reverse light wires

Thanks Ole

I already have the rear lh tail light out but unlike the rh side can not find a route into the void the number plate lamp and reverse lamp wiring goes into so wondered if they initially ran under the little ledge in the boot/trunk beside the petrol tank.

Routing of reverse light wires

Dear All, Correcting some mistakes made to the wiring of my S3 and wanted to know how to run the number plate and reverse light wiring. I presume they both run from the LH side loom but can not feel a gap to run them into the void behind the trunk from the rear light, do they run under the lip of th...

Stonechip paint

Coming time to respray my series 3 but the question is how far up the sills do I take the stone chip paint and what profile does it follow on the boot pan. Clear on wheel arches.

Thanks Nigel

Insulating panels on petrol tank

Can't find any part numbers but what are people using for the insulating panel facing the spare wheel and the pillar by the fuel filter?

Had a more detailed look and no press studs the Velcro is held on with very small screws so assume one press stud goes at the bottom are the others rivetted or screwed in ? If screwed do they go where the panhard screws are as well?

Cheers Nigel
