Re: Camber / Caster settings for modern tyres
Hi Richard....were those settings made with setting links in place or with the car just sitting normal Hi Steve, sorry for late answer. I always do camber, castor settings with the car level. I do not use the setting links for camber for a so called mid laden weight. I do know suspension needs to b...

Re: Camber / Caster settings for modern tyres
Hi Richard, Can I bump up your thread please ? I have roughly zero camber on one side and positive 0.25 degrees on the other, and there appears to be just one shim on either side - so I'm guessing that the best I'll get is negative 0.25 on one side and zero on the other by removing them. If aiming ...

Re: Turn indicator unobtainium canceling ring
Hi all, I received the canceling ring from Marek and installed it this weekend. The ring was sent very quickly by Marek and payment was easy using PayPal. I had to fix my steering lock also, so two jobs done. For the steering lock I needed a shear bolt which I recently discovered SNG sells them. The...

Re: Upper steering column
Hi, I also bought this kit from SNG, but it is not a replacement of the original bearings. It are 4 conical shaped brass and metal rings that act as bearings. I was very confused how to use it, and contacted SNG about is. Sadly didn't helped me much. Their comment was, it should be installed by a pr...

Hi, I just refreshed the clutch fluid and adjusted the clutch. I let gravity do its work to empty the system and flushed it with methylated spirit. I then filled the reservoir with fresh fluid and used the bicycle inner tube method to bleed the system. Worked excellent. Richard ......slave cylinders...

Re: Wrong Door Frame Rubber Seal
Hoi Henkie, Hoe is het? Ben je lid van de E-type club? I had the same issue and I recently discovered an answer on this matter I had for years. I never understood the function because the lip was bent. So what is purpose? It was discussed in the recent E-type magazine as Chrisvine mentioned. So ther...

Re: Camber / Caster settings for modern tyres
Hi, This is are very good question, which I asked before. At the moment I'm busy, getting all geometry right on my car, after having new (with correct size) tires fitted. I refitted the original rear springs with Boges, and omitting the packing ring. This gives me a good rear ride height, about he s...

How about the Retro Classic 001 185/80 R15 93H. Is a Chinese copy of the XVS, formerly known as Nankang. They got good reviews on some of the Citroen DS forums. Costing less than triple the price of XVS. http://www.bandenprijzen24.nl/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=120&typ=GI-D-121649GA&partner=1&ID=psm_rdo_n...

Hi Christpher, Do you mean shims behind the hinges. I don,t recall shims anywhere on my E. To adjust the hinge and door I used the 2x4 bolts in the hinges. My doors are also not perfect and not in line with the body. Never knew the factory twisted the doors before fixing the skin. When I bought my c...

Hi Marek, I have lately noticed that the ignition light comes on during driving, mostly after a while, but also goes out again. My voltmeter give good reading and does not change during the times the light comes on. At idle charging is 14.2V. So good I think. Is this because of diodes fault, as you ...

Re: Mangoletsi wire throttle upgrade
Hi, I have the system also for more then a year. It works spotless for me, although it took some time to set it up. Main problem is the sync of the 3 carbs, but the trick is in essence the same as with the old linkage system. I have the carbsprings on the car as needed, and they are strong enough to...
