Re: Overflowing Fuel
Not sure if this is relevant but could it be that on this carb the float needle is installed the wrong way round thus not doing its job, just a thought.

Fosseway door mirrors
I been using those clip-on to window frame mirrors for a while and found despite them being reasonable quality mirrors, the quality of the fitting to be lacking. The bracket where the two 5mm screws thread into are made of cheese and any attempt to tighten them results in a stripped threads. On the ...

OK, gave the sparkles a clean, topped up SU oil where necessary, brought her home 25 miles down the M1, the drive was sweet everything worked fine.

Re: A small issue…
Well any carb or fuel issues can be ruled out in my case as the car hardly did 2000 miles since it was restored. I haven’t had a chance to re-address the issue but will in the coming few days and report back.

Re: A small issue…
That was the first thing that sprang to mind, checked it seemed ok but will top it up when I find that little bottle which I misplaced. Also will get the spark plugs out in case they need a clean as I have a slight misfire on idle fro one of the exhausts. Thanks for your reply.

A small issue…
After a few months of storage with the occasional engine start, I had the opportunity to take her out for a short 3 mile drive and a re-fuel. On a couple of occasions when attempting to accelerate I got a hesitation and back fire, at the beginning I thought it may have been old fuel but it happened ...

Re: bang and black smoke
First thing I would do in such a case is check all the spark plugs to determine whether there is a misfiring by seeing wetness on any of the cylinders.

Re: New member from York looking for servicing and restoration contacts
Welcome to the best place for all things e type. As a Londoner can't help you on finding contacts in and around York, I am sure some folks more local to you will chime in with suggestions. I see the car was converted to LHD and to a five speed box which I had done on mine. I noticed they were only 3...
