one year ago I had the same problem as you all and I solved it by filling all the passage nut with 2 components polyurethane glue. no more leaks since !

I forgot to say that it regulates the voltage to 13.7 v at the end of charging.

There are so many repairs in an E that begin with "remove the front seats". As a tip to make the console much easier to remove, slacken and disconnect the handbrake cable at the rear near the IRS so the handbrake lever can be positioned to near vertical. Yes, while that seems like more work overall...
