Hi Ross,
I'm going to sound a bit like a typical parts supplier here but..... I've never had a problem reported like this but wouldn't rule it out.
If there is anything we can help with, please let me know (if our caliper is faulty, we will replace it).
Angus

Re: Handbrake cable fixing
Depends on how early the car is. The early ones had a spring that held the cable away. Later on, there was an oval with a grommet that the cable passes through.

Make sure the engine frame bolts are tight (particularly on the bulkhead).

Re: Chrome wing beading sealing
We never seal them as the flanges are painted plus the reason Christopher stated. They need to 'breathe'. IIRC. when they were new, there was little of no paint in between these flanges.

Better car lighting have produced a complete PL headlight using LEDs I believe. It might be worth giving Gil a ring on 01789576102.

Re: E-Type major price correction expected?!
and that is the exact reason for owning/buying one. I am not seeing a major price correction on the cars we deal with. I also see the right cars being sold for very good money - they aren't normally advertised. The normal rubbish that gets hawked around auction/auction sites will always be hard to s...

Re: A year ago, when things were different
Sad times indeed Chris. We were due to take a leisurely drive down to Italy to watch the MM again this year and it was great fun booking everything and working out the route last year. It was equally sad to be cancelling everything though. Lets just hope that we don't forget these times and remember...

Re: Series 3 Brake Servo Replacement⅚
I wouldn’t recommend changing to silicone at this point. People have had problems with seals swelling. We only use silicone on our restorations as everything has been replaced or rebuilt. Swapping out the servo is no big deal, bleeding the brakes could be.

Re: Woodham & Mortimer WM sport GT
I don't know Simon. I agree, I would have thought it would be aircon but it would be unusual to use the standard flap vents inside the car. I can't see the compressor etc and there is no mention of it in the sales literature.

Re: Woodham & Mortimer WM sport GT
Not sure about the AC bit Simon. Looking in the car it has the standard heater flaps and no under dash millboards. (Not keen on the interior though!).

This is a presentation key. Not sure of the origins but these keys were available in period in a presentation box. Don’t think they were factory but a nice addition.

Re: Which Clutch? Series 1 3.8 Fast Road with 4.2 Box.
Talking to various people, there was a batch of clutches that had an issue with the pressure plate where it attaches to the clutch cover (where the release bearing pushes against). This pressure plate (or contact pad) is held in place via the 'fingers' on the clutch housing. What has happened on a f...

Re: Which Clutch? Series 1 3.8 Fast Road with 4.2 Box.
My ramblings... Before committing the car to JLR out there (I assume they are a main dealer?) you might be better off trying to find a good garage that works on classic cars as they will (or should have) a better understanding of your issue. There is an issue with carbon release bearings at the mome...
