Yours should have had the captive bolts and notched bumpers Jeremy. Rory’s should be bolted through the body.

It won’t just be the nut you'll need. You will need to replace the bushing inside the gearstick as well.

We always take care to fit the tank sump to the tank outside of the car first. Just to make sure it screws up fully and smoothly. Also check alignment of the hole in the boot and the sump. Don't forget the doughnut between tank and body. Don't overtighten the sump as you will risk the seal being dam...

Richard, those grommets done come with the kit. Best thing to do is fit all the grommets first as per the list that comes In the packet then start laying in the loom.

I can’t speak for other restorers but we never ask for money up front. We only invoice for works completed and parts purchased for each customer. On some of our larger restorations, a number of customers have transferred money up front. We open a separate savings account for them and when an invoice...

I had a brass float let go a couple of months ago. Luckily it was in the garage. Have now swapped both cars with plastic as the thought of that happening on Eurostar doesn’t bear thinking about!

Buggar! My recently arrived JDHT certificate states ‘Silver’ not ‘Dark’. Apologies in my excitement I posted in error. Should have read ‘definitely for a 66 car in opalescent silver grey’. I’ll hand my card in at the door.
