It varies state by state, but in California you can have the Dept of Motor Vehicles perform a title search. I did hear that the DMV did a major records purge in the mid-1990s, so this information may not be available. Another factor to consider is that California (and other states) carefully contro...

Tracing an E-Type's history in America
I've just purchased an imported e type jaguar from the USA last year & I need some help as to how to set about finding out it's ownership history and any work done to the car during the 44 years it was there. The Heritage certificate states the last owner in the states and I have written to them, bu...

Lovely car! Well done! Are you planning on enjoying the first season in LHD mode, use the time to collect all the RHD bits, and then convert autumn - winter? Or cracking on with conversion straight away? Whilst I like LHD when abroad, I hate it in the UK, so I'm changing just that straight away to ...

Well, after a search lasting 8 months, I finally found what I wanted. It's a rolling restoration, 1970 S2 FHC matching numbers in vgc from California in White with Black leather. Hopefully will be "on the road" in the UK in May & at the moment the only thing I'm changing is LHD to RHD & I will run i...

Data Plate Info & Original Paperwork / Handbooks
Hopefully getting to view a S2 FHC 2+2 this week and have been told it is a matching numbers car ? Clearly I want to check this out, so taking the info (car, body, engine & gearbox) on the actual data plate on the car, where do I check this info on the actual car & parts ? I will not be able to get ...

Otherwise if you're looking at S2's then there has been one advertised here at gradually lower prices since the summer, the E-type market here is really small. From memory it's burgundy with a tan interior (newly done). And looked to be a solid car. Can't remember if FHC or 2+2. Can't remember auto...

Hi all,
Just joined up, as I am starting to learn about all things e-type as I am looking to buy a S2 FHC to run in the next 6 months for a while before restoration & yes, I have already spoken to Moss Jaguar.
Look forward to learning lots along the journey
