Re: Wet plug fouling
Have you tried moving the plug to another cylinder to see if the problem moves with it, also you could do the same with the HT lead & cap to check first ?

Re: Website Builders
That's a real shame, as the history files on all the cars you & the team have worked on make great reading and reference info for further work as needed

Re: Website Builders
I built and maintain mine using iPage. Wouldn't say they are any better or any worse than any of the others. I find it simple enough to get on with but not as many features as I would like. It looks like they may have file / capaciity limitations, therefore customer history files could be limited e...

Good call Andy and thanks for letting us know, but it needs a lot more support from everyone with a historic vehicle interest to get to government debate level by June 18

Re: Original Late E Series II refresh as it unfolds (Aug 1970 Build)
Since the car is getting restored back to a European spec vs California, I'm looking for a set of European ribbed Valve / Cam covers without the notched step to go with the triple SU's. Can't seem to locate them here. Any ideas? thx They do come up from time to time on eBay UK, thats where I got mi...

I knew Billy Cotton had one of the original RHD FHC's & now I know for sure (No 31), still cannot find any pictures of him with it tho !

Re: Advice on removing S2 bumpers please
In the new year, I'm going to have a new reversing light upgrade which has LED stop lights also incorporated into the reversing lights. It'll have even brighter reversing lights (if that's not a contradiction in terms) and also even more super bright red LEDs mounted into the same space on top of t...

Re: Diff ratios
Yes it is possible, I got mine converted (via a transmission specialist) three months ago on my S2 XKE which had a 3.54 LSD and had it converted to a 3.07 & retained the original LSD and casings with it. Basically, it is the crown wheel & pinion that needs changing providing that you have access to ...

Hi Tom,
Being based in the UK, you will need to send it to Mike Eck via Coolcat in America to get it repaired.
Here's the link:
www.coolcatcorp.com
and the jaguarclock link is near the bottom on the index.
Just about to send mine off to him to as it stop starting a lot and is now unreliable

Re: Not having a good day...
Engine out, full stripdown and rebuild is what I'd do. Never ever trust someone else's "rebuild". That bearing was damaged by swarf because they didn't clean the block properly. Agreed, if they cannot clean it properly and it goes bang, then certainly dont trust anything else, you never know what y...

Why keep the old reversing lights ? you could change them to Merek's All in One Led's and clean up the rear look ? I did mine a couple of years ago & they really work well both practically & cosmetically

Re: Diff ratios
Hugo, Why do you want a 2.88 diff in there ? Surely the best solution is for a 3.07 on an S2 which gives the best balance between power, torque & economy through the rev range ? Just had mine converted from 3.56 lsd to 3.07 lsd by a local specialist to you & I and am really pleased with the result :...

Re: Not having a good day...
Hi keith, I feel for you as I have been through a similar experience, mine was two engine rebuilds in 6 months, 1st was for big end shims/ washers installed the wrong way around in America, so this destroyed the complete bottom end & then the 2nd time around an oil pump failure which was a warranty ...

Re: Missing at high revs under load
John, It's not the Pertronix if it is working correctly, as mine revs right up to the redline, no problem ! However it did put the NGK BPR5ES in my car as David recommended and got a really bad misfire at low revs under load so have now had to remove them & go back to my old NGK BP5E and misfire is ...

Neal,
I need a new pilkington screen with radio aerial for my S2 FHC, did you just order it or did you have to do aperture measurements etc ?
