Re: Speedometer cable clip?

Hi, Yes it's for the speedo cable. You'll find it in a lot of supplier. " The clip supports the speedometer cable where it runs over the geabox. The brackets are different for LHD and RHD; part #C17410 for RHD and C18128 for LHD and available from Richard Smith or SNGB. This is the fitting on a LHD ...

Ground otter switch

I just had a ground problem on the header tank. The new otter switch did not start the fan. After some investigation, I understood that it was'nt at all connected to the ground. The front frame has just been repainted. the bush of the header tank and the radiator are new. I looked at all the photos ...

Re: Spinners stuck and wheels stuck on!

Hi, Certainly a stupid question but do you turn in the good way ? The "undo" on the spinner is'nt the same for left and right. If the way is ok, the last guy who touched your wheels tightened them too much. Try with a "truck" ratchet 3/4" and a long bar. If it's very tighten a hammer is going to hur...

Re: Clutch pedal S1 4.2

Its a pity but yes.
I don't think it's the gearbox. The first idea is the clutch and around.
To see the positif things, it's better to do this now instead of stayind on the road during a week-end !
You'll take the opportunity to change some parts witch are used du to the age.

Re: Clutch pedal S1 4.2

Put a lamp to see the problem into the bell housing and have somebody in the car to push the pedal.
You'll see what happen but it "smell" an engine out of the car to repair the clutch...

Re: How to fit crankshaft rope seal?

Why not, but I did't cut them and it fit also properly.
Not easy to do, need time but no possible leak.

Re: How to fit crankshaft rope seal?

Hi Tadek, First of all you never cut this seal. You'r going to have leak if you do this. I think you don't have the good tool or purhaps not the good way to use it. I can't explain you I don't have the vocabulary but look at the service manual. This is the good tool https://i.postimg.cc/jSGLYx98/6si...

Tighten the cylinder block studs ( plain and dowel )

Hi all,
Could somebody confirm me the value ?
I found 56lb/ft into a previous message but the forumer wasn't sure.
I don't find in the service manual.
Thanks

Re: Speedometer conversion

Hi Mike Yes, Simply press on a tapered axle. Your needle is actually stop at 0 by a small wire. After refit the needle you'll need to reset this "0" because its' legeremently in tension. If you want to have you speedometer with a good calibration and the odometer in "meter", send it to : http://www....
