Re: FACTORY FIT - Series 2

"This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was reportedly parked in a Dallas garage by its original owner with 25,688 miles in early 1973, and was recently recovered by the selling dealer after 45 years of storage. Finished in British Racing Green with a Fawn soft top over Beige leather upholstery, t...

Re: Heat Shrink

I'm not sure if you are getting heat shrink and standard sleeving mixed up. Heat shrink is used to insulate and add strength to connections, e.g. joining 2 wires or a wire onto a connector e.g. a ring or spade connector. Sleeving is sometimes used to loosely group some wires together. e.g. 2 wires t...

Re: Which exhaust

I was having a chat with another owner at the weekend on our Swiss eType Register 2 day tour. He also has a Stainless steel exhaust. I raised with him the point about mild steel sounding better. He agreed and said the secret was to get thicker stainless steel and it will sound on-par with the mild s...

Mangoletsi give a list of the UK dealers on their website. Perhaps one of them may have a definitive answer.

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque

Thanks. Thinking on it some more, I know that O/S hub has definitely been replaced in the last 2 years. The other's I'm uncertain of their history. The aftermarket eared spinners have been off the car for over 2 years. Taking a look, I can definitely see the grease has not hit the end of the threads...

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque

I have terrible knocking on the front O/S with a repro continental spinner. However, this is only noticeable with the Dayton wheels. The Realm D-type wheels are ok.

Do you know if Julian Barratt is aware of this? Where should the repros be shaved exactly? In the U channel around the centre?

Re: ProRace crankshaft damper - which belt?

Why not just order a belt sized according to the measurements you have taken instead of all the trial and error of various C.xxxx ones?

Re: Wheel: what Tightening torque

Have a look at Dave's video on youtube

If you look at the spinners, they loosen in the same direction as the forward motion of the car. It is the braking forces that would cause tightening (if any).

When I enquiried about a year ago, the aerial was only standard and not a DAB one. Double check with pilkinington before if that is one of your criteria.

Re: Oil pressure gauge for stronger pump

The mechanical gauges that Steve suggested are the way to go. Also they go up to 100 PSI. M&C Wilkinson have them amongst others.

On my GT6 my renewal was £269 with Lancaster. Shopping around, I ended up back at Lancaster for £134 despite having a claim last summer that was my fault - I couldn't blame the lamp post despite Jasper Carrot's best advice.
