It takes a chrome-plated shoulder bolt 1/4 - 28 thread with a dome head, and a brass washer. I can post a pic if you need one.
FWIW, I had to substitute a setup similar to what you show, because the support stick was binding on the side panel.

Re: rIn a Dither over Interior Trim Removal
I use mineral spirits (USA).
If you're not repainting the inside I would simply scrape off the loose stuff and re-glue the new interior underlayment.

Re: Electronic Ignition
I have Pertronix electronic points installed in the stock distributor. Not a lot of miles on the E yet, but I have used Pertronix points in my other cars for 20 years with excellent performance and reliability. Inexpensive, too, when compared to other solutions - about $100.

Re: New member from the U.S.A / Tennessee
Welcome, Wes. I am up the road from you in KY. I have converted my S2 to covered headlights, so it can be done if you're inclined. This forum is a wealth of information from dozens of sharp owners (you already met one!). I recommend a thorough read of the Technical Information section, located under...

Re: Reccomendations for parts catalogue
The book sold by xkebooks.com is excellent, if pricey. It was invaluable to me in resurrecting my basket case car. It was in dozens of boxes, and I spent several evenings matching mystery parts to illustrations in the book.

I should point out there is no 'team' keeping this Forum running - just me with moral support and a shoulder to cry on from Angus. How I wish I had some elves to help! I will attest that you are the hardest working team-of-one that I know of! For you i wish a gift of elves. Thank you, David, and Me...

I bought from Skinner's. The kit is in transit right now. I will post more as soon as I have it in hand. : edit : received the Skinner kit on 19 Dec. Well packed, complete and looks beautiful. I also bought door pulls and door card inserts. Probably will take me to Spring to install. Ill post again ...

I am unable to reach jag-lovers.com. I get a message saying my connection is not private, and will only let me "return to safety".. I have cleared cookies, but no help. Re: Stored engine - protection
I pumped an engine's passageways full of oil using a garden sprayer plumbed into the oil pressure sensor port. Worked really well. I could see the oil seeping out of the cam galley ways by looking through the oil filler cap. With regard to water passages I think a dry engine (vis- a-vis water) could...

Re: canopy panel (soft top) - measurement needed
The visors mount at the A pillar, so I'm not sure if the straps would interfere. My car has no sunvisors, so I didn't think of that. You could be right. Ill keep that in mind before I commit to one or the other.

canopy panel (soft top) - measurement needed
Gents, can someone kindly provide the measurement shown below? Its the distance between the mounting points for the straps on the underside of the canopy panel. I don't have the straps yet, so I cant eyeball this measurement. hood058.jpg Heuer gives a measurement of 11.5", but I don't know if this i...

Vehicle ID tags location
Gents, I need to attach these two tags to my S2. The PO had bagged and tagged them, but I could use a good picture showing exactly where and how they were attached. id tags.jpg The bottom one goes somewhere on the rear bulkhead (behind the license plate?) the top one I think goes on the driver side ...
