Re: SNGB Web Feedback

Hi Julian Sometimes when I log into your site I get the new, much improved, version. Other times I still get the old, error message laden one. Can you remove the old one please? Edit - I am talking about the parts listings, the new version starts with little pictures of Body Fittings, Body Shell and...

Re: Spinners stuck and wheels stuck on!

If your car has just come back from a service and the wheels are stuck on I would seriously question returning to the same establishment ever again!!

Gearbox Tunnel Foam BD27833

I am replacing the gear lever rubber gaiter on the gearbox cover because it is old and torn. Whilst I was there I removed the gearbox cover to also fit the gearbox tunnel foam. My question is which way round is the foam fitted? Does anyone have any photos of it in place. The reason I ask is that it ...

Re: High Beam Headache

Congratulations to Mark and Colin for working together and finding the solution to the problem. This is what these forums(fora?) are all about. Just to satisfy my curiosity can anyone tell me if the bonnet connector in Mark's car is original or has it been replaced at some time? The reason I ask is ...

Re: Diff oil leak

It is always nice to be able to conclude a question with a positive answer. After much discussion and investigation it was decided to deliver the car to the company that refurbished the IRS and get them to investigate and cure the problem. This was done recently and they reported that they had fitte...

The temp gauge goes to the red zone is that not over heating? Steams aswell
But you have also said that the fans do not come on, if they did it is unlikely that the temp gauge would go into the red zone.

Re: Bonnet Removal

Surely the whole point of pulling out the top hat pins is that you don't loose the alignment of the bonnet to the rest of the car. Doing it the way the video shows will result in a lot of f**ting around trying to get the bonnet to shut again.

Is there another video showing how to refit it?

Re: Tex door mirrors -how to adjust

The glass is held in with rubber pads underneath it and the black plastic edging. To remove the glass press it in a little and lever out a long edge of the plastic edge with a wide flat implement like a paint scraper. Then remove the other edges of the plastic. Simples.

Re: Diff oil leak

Thank you Steve and Dave, looks like that is the cause of the problem.

Thank you David, I have checked the breather and it is clear, it would appear to be the bearing housing as above.

Diff oil leak

I have recently had my IRS refurbished and having refitted it to the car there is diff oil leakage onto the parking space after a few miles. Investigation shows that the source of the leak is from two openings in the diff casting under the output shaft housings. The attached photo shows the area in ...

By way of comparison, in January 1965 Motor Sport carried out a lengthy road test of a series 1 4.2 litre E type and over 1300 miles used 6 pints of oil, just over 200 mpp.
