Re: Cooling fan removal

Hi Colin Would it be possible to remove just the single fan assembly whose motor you need to replace? The three legged motor mounting bracket is bolted to the cowl with 3 screws and nuts. You may be able to access the nuts inside the cowl through the fan blades. I can't get at my car at present to c...

Re: I've sprung an unusual leak!

When draining some coolant I noticed that the radiator tap had a slight drip despite being in the fully off position. Any advice on how best to repair it? Ian I think if you remove the drain tap you will find that the part that you turn is a tapered plug held in place with a spring and washer and s...

Re: Exhaust Fitting

Hi Ian I think exhaust paste would be better than copper slip. Which of Barratts fitting kits have you chosen? The more expensive one with band clamps is much better than the one with mild steel ring clamps. The mild steel clamps deform the pipes and make removal or repositioning difficult. The Barr...

Re: Head studs and driving light electrics !

Also my lights are causing me some head scratching.... I thought it was the switch for the lights that had given up the ghost but ive gotten a new one and still no joy. The bulbs work when I flash them on the steering but the switch does nothing. Is there a relay somewhere? Is it possibly a problem...

James

Do you regularly use a fork lift truck to get under your car?

And - when I fitted the gearbox heat shield I puzzled over why it wouldn't fit for a long time and then discovered that the bracket arrowed by 288gto was assembled upside down.

Re: SNGB Web Feedback

Hi Julian

The colour coding that you have introduced on the parts listings showing if parts are in stock, not in stock, unavailable etc is a clever touch. Very helpful.

A little bit of an update. The Elan lights are now fitted.
Dear Simon,

How much does a set of Elan lights cost please, if you don't mind my asking?

kind regards
Marek
I'm sure Marek knows that the answer is not cheap.

Re: SNGB Web Feedback

Hi Julian Sometimes when I log into your site I get the new, much improved, version. Other times I still get the old, error message laden one. Can you remove the old one please? Edit - I am talking about the parts listings, the new version starts with little pictures of Body Fittings, Body Shell and...

Gearbox Tunnel Foam BD27833

I am replacing the gear lever rubber gaiter on the gearbox cover because it is old and torn. Whilst I was there I removed the gearbox cover to also fit the gearbox tunnel foam. My question is which way round is the foam fitted? Does anyone have any photos of it in place. The reason I ask is that it ...
