Hello Paul ! I know two guys which have EV12 6,0 L (from a '93 limousine) with remapped ECU's from earlier V12 cars. The remapping has be done from AJ6. Two times the result have been a desaster. One car has a very bad (stumbling) iddle and a very high gas consumption. The mixture is much to fat. Ho...

The problem will be, that the mapping for the stock HE-Motor will not fit for the E-type with a slightly different motor. How big the difference is, I can't say. I know a garage owner in Germany, who has done a lot of these conversions. These cars are driving okay, but it was not possible to prgramm...

I have also an EV12. The most easy way to a better sound is to hammer a long iron with 1 inch diameter 3 times longline though the front silencers. The type of sound will be the same but it will be a "medium" bit more loud. YXou can keep the original exhaust system, with the original look, with zero...

It is possible but difficult, to use a HE-motor with 4 Stromberg-carbs in a E-type. I have a 6,0L motor from a 93' XJ81 in my red EV12 with good result. If you are mounting a 5,3L HE-motor into the E-type and change the original exhaust to a open big-bore system, the original programm of the injecti...

Maybe you can find a RHD-rack in Germany. Some cars with RHD have been changed to LHD-cars. You have to develope an internet searching-strategy to find one.

Hello Pete ! Thanks for your explanations. I was thinking about, to buy two TT-piepes from Bywater, because of the extraction effect. But I do not trust Bywaters words so much. He has a big amount of knowledge, but he also wants to sell his parts. Have you felt a difference, after you have mounted t...

"Not really, at least not during normal driving with constant vacuum carbs." Hmmmm . . . Bywater is writing the same on his homepage, when offering his exhaust systems. But: 1. I have "opened" the front silencers of my EV12 5,3 to a straight through 48 mm. After this my car had flat spots when acce...

If the back pressure of a exhaust system is lower, the mixture is becomming leaner. This will first slaughter some ponies and later kill some pistons. A cheap and quick trick for a morte "sporty" sound is to "make" the front silencers with a big hammer and a "sharp" iron a freeflow-through box. The ...

I had big niose from the tappets 14 years ago. When we measured the gaps, they have been okay. The noise came from wider tappet "cylinders". To reduce this noise, the tappet-cylinders must be bored out and tappets with oversice must be used.

Like I wrote before: if the back-pressure of the different original Jaguar exhaust systems is similar, the needle can be the same. Have you ever measured the exact lambda of such a motor at different loads, after the exhaust or air-filter system has been changed ? Like 99,5 % of all people, who talk...

Hello Christopher ! A plain fact is, that grandmaster of tuning David Vizzard wrote, "if you change the exhaust system to a big bore system, the carb sees another world". A plain fact is also, that 35 years ago I have tuned my Honda Monkey. Big carb and big bore exhaust. After I have changed to the ...
