carburettor gasket

Dear Forum collegues, working on the Stromberg carb's of my '71 V12 I found the next confusing item (sorry). On my car between the carburettors and the inlet manifold there was one paper gasket and a thicker gasket block. Is the paper gasket really necessary? If so I think there should be 2 per carb...

Re: Electric Power Steering

Hi,
Here is a pic from an EZ steering I took in Essen this year.
It should give you an image about the size.

Re: Float

Hello Hugo, You are right. There is a contact mark on the opposite side. It must have been assembled the other way around in the past. I found that two carbs have newer float chamber gaskets than the others. And exactly these two habe the stepped part on the bottom. My conclusion is that some "speci...

Re: Float

Hello Steve,

thank you for the hint, that's what I thought.
I was just confused because I have 2 carbs which are correct ant which are not.
I think my previous owner has mixed it up.

:thankyouyellow:

Float

Hello forum colleagues, I am confused which side of the float in my Strombergs has to be upside. One carb has the stepped side up, the next one has it down. In the parts cataloge it looks to me that the stepped part has to be upside. What is correct? :seeingstars: https://s21.postimg.org/9220i2ief/2...

Re: Rear backrest

Hello Peter, thank's a lot. I found a pole that came with my car and that looks like the part in the catalogue. BD30178 But I don't know where this pole goes. I think it should connect the left and right side. My pre owners made a new interior trim (very bad) and has not assembled most of the necess...

Dear forum members, today I have the next question. How to mount the rear backrest of my 71 series 3. :seeingstars: (rear upper seat assy) At the moment it is not mounted in the car and I have no idea which parts are necessary to mount it to the body. Re: Greetings

Thank you all for the kind welcome. Yesterday my E has entered the garage. It is in really bad condition after 36 years without real care. Best example is how the previous owner fixed the choke cable https://s18.postimg.org/pukerygt5/20170401_140755.jpg Nothing really works and the body repairs are ...

Re: Greetings

Hello Darren, unfortunately it is not in good condition (4). The previous owner bought it in 1981 and has just driven it without taking care about it. He just made necessary repairs and sometimes just "fixed" Problems (fans are operated by a switch). in the last years he has not driven it and now it...
