Re: Fitting my rear bumper

Very interesting technique Andy, for those of us working alone in cold workshops! I am sure your method will be very useful for me when the time comes. Page bookmarked :drinkingcheers:

Re: S2 Thermostat Housing wanted!!

Hi Steve,
Yes, I have one. As you can see the water pipe is a bit corroded - as you can see from the photo.

Me, of course!
Just let me do some counting...

Differing diameter responsible?

Yes...By torch light, but I believe 134 teeth....
Do you want a photo? There is some evidence of minor damage to some teeth, but doesn’t look too bad...

Re: Engine frame and picture frame bolt diagram

I Ash, I have bought a new kit, as a couple of the originals had to be cut off (rounded nylocs). I also have detailed charts of every bracket, etc that goes back on with each bolt. This was especially useful for the picture frame/bonnet frame build up If you could send me any charts that would be re...

Re: Engine frame and picture frame bolt diagram

Hi Andrew,
Many thanks - are you taking about Steve Kemp’s ‘mounting hardware for series 1 subframe assembly’?
I was wondering if that was accurate for a series 2?

Are you prepared to let me into the secret of the errors too?

Many thanks,
Rich

Engine frame and picture frame bolt diagram

Morning all, Does anyone have a map or diagram of the various bolts, and lengths etc of the engine, picture and bonnet frames for a series 2. I visited the paint shop yesterday and we need to bolt up the frames, so that we can fit and shim the bonnet and make sure everything is correct before the fi...

Re: Garage / workshop

Hi Yves, Thanks for you post - I like the work you have put into your garage and know what effort it took :drinkingcheers: I still haven’t decided what to use in the floor - so many options! My new concrete floor is actually very level, aside from two places where the pit shuttering supports interru...

Re: Garage / workshop

Thanks Steve, Stu and Barry for your extra tips. I will let the floor cure for a good month. It’s interesting with the fresh concrete and possibly as the pit not yet dropped in place just how humid the garage feels at the moment. I was definitely intending to insulate the walls with rock wool and bo...

Re: Garage / workshop

Thanks David, I thought self levelling resin was a good option, as there are a couple of very minor differences in the floor levels in a couple of places where we had to hold the weight of the pit shuttering in place from above I am usually in favour of the performance and look of good old grey gara...

Re: Garage / workshop

Thanks for all your comments gents! Yes David, I have thought about the lights - the pit is already wired for a double socket and two LED lights that I will be able switch on at the wall, along with the main lights and there will be a number of strategically placed sockets around the garage. I will ...
