Re: Xk140 question
I had an XK140 for a while IMG_2734s.JPG and had a problem with the boot lock, after a while it would not release, allowing the boot to open. Search answers talked about drilling a hole through the skin to release it!! Horrible thought!! There are two locking mechanisms for the lid, 1 each side whic...

Re: RV7413/03 and /02
Richard, if it is only the bulb covers that concern you, why not just swap the casings as that is all they are fixed to IIRC.
And, if you are using LED bulbs why the concern, use colour LED's.

Rather than extract the whole cable from the car, why not wait till you get a replacement cable and just replace the inner?

Re: LED Upgrade for Indicators
I too have LED stop n tail lights from Better Car Lighting. One failed within the 2 year warranty period and it was replaced FOC by Gil. He recommended the diode installation in the supply side of all LED bulbs as possible feedback from poor earthing can damage the LED's. The diodes are a bit expens...

Re: Drive it day, or don’t.
I went to the Asda petrol station for lawn mower fuel, crossed a cop car coming out as I went in!! No problem, just another car going for essential supplies.
But I could not resist a blast round the valley on completely empty roads later on

OK David. I will refrain from using the attachments method, particularly as I do have an Imgur account. It's remembering to use it though!!

Re: Tacho and 123 ignition
You do not say which engine and tacho you have. It makes a difference to the advice. If you have the later setup where the tacho takes its signal from the dizzy then do you have an RVI to RVC conversion board installed in your tacho? This is what I have in mine: https://www.spiyda.com/smiths-rvi-rvc...

Re: Add photo option gone?
It's there on my laptpo but I don't use that link anyway, it seems to default to the .org rather than .cc function.
I use the Attachments tab below, works much better.

Re: Distilled/de-ionised water?

Distilled water in an iron works with some but our last one would spit out crud periodically.
The latest one says "Do not use distilled water, it mucks up the cleaning process" - or some such IIRC

Something pretty major no doubt David, but at least you must have had the necessary backups.
Though in the S2 Aesthetics thread, pictures in the penultimate page seem to be unavailable.

Re: Can we go for a drive??
This is such a big question! There are many people truly struggling right now. Does that mean we all have to struggle? All reduced to the lowest common denominator? It seems to us the government "advice" is based on city dwellers. Out in the sticks where we are I can see very little reason not to g...

Re: Speedo failure
The cable is the 60” version which I believe is correct for a rhd car with a moss box. I don't mean the external length of the whole cable but more specifically the length of the square end which goes into the speedo. If this is too long it can push up the rotating magnet etc., but I think 1st indi...
