V12 Oil Pressure

Hello, Pleased to report some progress with my V12 1972 LHD import. The body needs some work to make it sound and I will be removing the engine as a part of the process. A few months ago I was pleased with the result of my compression test so today moved on to check out the oil pressure prior to rem...

Re: SNG Barratt

Welcome Julian, Recently whenever I pass through Bridgnorth I have to call in and buy something, always an enjoyable experience. I’m a relatively recent e type owner but my desire to own an e type and interest in them goes back many years. I recall visiting what I think was your business in Trysull ...

Re: V12 Compression Test

Hi John,

Thanks for your comments and guidance, I’m waiting on my mechanical gauge arriving and then will need to get the car running prior to any oil pressure assessment so may be a short delay prior to reporting findings.

Many thanks for you contribution

Re: V12 Compression Test

Hello, compression test done, the most difficult part was cleaning out all the muck that had accumulated in the wells within which the spark plugs sit. Lots of poking about and copious use of my workshop vac prior to removing each plug. I followed the advice, all plugs out, coil disconnected, fuel p...

V12 Compression Test

Hello, I’m starting to make progress with my series 3 v12 e type. I need to remove the engine to carry out some rust repairs and thought before doing so it would be sensible to check out the condition of the engine. I’m hoping it does not need a rebuild, we will see. I want to avoid if possible remo...

Re: Royal Jaguar?

I have driven 35,000 over the last 18 months in my Tesla. Lots of motorway miles at normal speeds, a good rule of thumb is expect to achieve around 3 miles of range to each kw used. 1/2 an hour at a Tesla Supercharger will add around 150 miles to the battery. My car weighs 2,150 kg. I plug in at hom...

Nick’s V12 arrives!!! 1972 LHD Auto

Hello, After enjoying having a good read of this excellent forum over recent weeks I’m very pleased to confirm that after many years of dreaming I now have a 1972 V12 sitting in my garage. An eBay US import with some work to do but (I hope) not too much. I hope to get it started in the next few days...
