Re: Sweating Brake Reservoir Hose

Thanks David and Christopher. I am intending to get some Cohline 2337 from Merlin Motorsport. Is this the correct pipe? https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/7mm-cohline-brake-reservoir-feed-hose-per-100mm-m-sph8-4?pn=2337-0613 Looks quite reasonable at £1.32 per 100 mm + VAT. My current sweating pip...

Sweating Brake Reservoir Hose

The brake reservoir hose on my series 3 is sweating. So I will replace it. Can anyone confirm best hose and dimensions. I tried to measure the existing one on the car and the length looks to be about 30cm and the diameter of the outside is around 1.7 cm. But I think the internal dimension is normall...

Thanks for the tip Neil.
However, I now have a tube of the paste.
But good to know it's available as an aerosol.

Weeping Thermostat Housing

The nearside thermostat housing on my series 3 is weeping. On start up there is smoke coming from the nearside housing and area under the front Carb. Once hot the smoke stops, it is water/coolant as I can smell that sweet smell of antifreeze. I am assuming that once hot and the thermostat is open, w...

Re: Modern and fun

Mike, I fully approve! We are lucky enough to have a nice new company car that is the school run bus. I’ve had a Porsche 997 daily driver for 5 years that hasn’t depreciated and have just had the bosses approval for an upgrade to a 991 this year! I’ve also managed to quietly collect a few ...

Re: Modern and fun

Now that could be described as greedy! So the obvious question is, which is the favourite?? I know what mine is and it begins with an E!.... Horses for courses! The F Type is a V6S with 0-60 in around 4.6, it's an incredible car. Can use it every day and have fun at the same time. The F Type sounds...

Re: series 3 vs Series 1

interesting discussion...from an aesthetic point of view I would prefer a combination of series 3 and series 1: the series 3 OTS body, but with the short wheelbase of series 1. The wheelbase and the doors of series 3 are simply much too long. But this is just my personal opinion. Nevertheless, I ha...

Re: Touring New Zealand

Hi Chris, All our luggage was in the car, but luckily for us we didn't have any problems. Wonderful roads and stunning scenery, only wish I had the e type here. Waterfalls, mountains, rivers, gorges, a very pleasant and very green land! Off to Queenstown South Island on Monday finishing up after ano...

Also visited the Southward Car Museum about 40km outside Wellington. Can definitely recommend it. On our way to South Island on Monday. Unfortunately not with the E Type!

Touring New Zealand

We are currently touring New Zealand . We started in Auckland and are now in Wellington. On the way from Bulls to Foxton on state highway 1 we spotted a dark series one coupe travelling in the opposite direction.

Hi Kevin,

In a word, no.

New wiring and modern electrical relays.
