Hi Simon, Would be very interested in your future mirror ideas. My mirror was direct from TEX and they assured me it was for the E Type. I will call them to query it, as if enough of us complain it might get them to look into things. I thought that if they produced a new angled fitting it would brin...

Simon, I have posted a few pictures of my series 3 with the drivers side mirror fitted (see under series 3 section - restoration pics). It sits too close to the door glass and doesn't adjust to allow you to see anything but the tarmac on the road! If they made an angled black plastic mounting bracke...

Hi Guys, thanks for the great comments. I have attached below a couple of photos of the engine bay as requested. Thanks for the observation on the front overriders I will check it out. Radiator was re-cored with 20% added cooling and changed the fans to the Coolcat conversion using twin speed...

Simon, I am interested in this one as well. I have just restored my series 3 and have bought the Tex curved mirror. I have put it on the upper curve of the door near the door frame. I have tried adjusting it and I can't see a damned thing from it. It is too close to the window and the angle of tilt ...

I will get the final drive oil level checked but as it is still dripping I would assume that there is still oil in there. Ref the U/J theory, there is no clunking and no vibration. Drive is all very smooth. The sound coming from the rear is more like a wheel bearing sound with an intermitant squeeki...

Noise From Rear End !

Noise from Rear end  I have a series 3 V12. There is a squeeking type noise coming from the rear end. It could be from a hub but I'm not sure. Sounds a bit like a worn bearing but the sound dissapears when I take the power off and coast along. When I put accelerator down sounds returns. Could t...

I am going on Saturday 23 July only. I am an E Type Club member and spoke with Mary at the club. If you buy an entrance ticket (discounted for club members) and are driving an E Type you will be directed to the inner part of the circuit to be parked with other E Type owners. She explained that the c...

There are a lot more people on here with much more technical experience than me, but are you sure the engine is seized (won't turn manually) Have you checked the starter motor. I'm afaid that if the engine is completely seized it will be a strip down of the whole engine. (In my limited experience) J...

Hi, I think you will need to be specific about your problem. It may be a language problem. Are you saying that the engine is seized?

What Temperature do the fans cut in at

Hi All, What temp do the fans cut in at on a V12? My Temp gauge indicates the middle of gauge when running normally in average temperatures but when hot day or running in heavy traffic the temp gauge goes up to the "L" of normal before the fans kick in. It then takes takes some time for the temp to ...

Hi Guys, Thanks for the responses. I went to a classic car show today and the starter behaved faultlessly. Although it has a tuning problem, I think it is running very rich. Very strong smell of petrol and is holding back at low RPM when going round roundabouts or tight corners. It is definately a f...

It seems to be intermittant. Not sure if it coincides with the high temperature when the engine has been running a while. But when trying to re-start it doesn't do anything and no clicks from the relay. But after a while (an hour or more) it starts. Plus I have taken the red/white wire off the relay...
