It was me that sold them :D I bought them in error a few weeks before, as my e type doesn't have side markers. It's a UK model. So I sold them on ebay. Took a loss on them as well !!! :(
Good that you can make use of them. Regards Mike.

I think that deleting the door mirror is the best cosmetic option as the lines of the car look better. But from a safety point of view and to save ricking my neck every time I want to pull out, I think I will fit one. I think that the mirror in question is a Tex Mirror (the curved arm type). They we...

Series 3 Door Mirror

My Series 3 V12 DHC is in the process of a bare metal restoration. I am told that the current door mirror doesn't look like the correct one. Does anyone have a picture and part number for the correct mirror.
Thanks

Will do David.
It's off for a bare metal re-paint next week, so I will use the opportunity of getting it done whilst the bonnet is off. I am going to photo record the whole process anyway so will include photos of the VW fan replacement.

Hi, going to go the coolcats route and install the two VW twin speed fans. I've now got the fans (new) bought on ebay for ?27.99 each. The procedure looks reasonably straight forward plus you then have the luxury of increasing the airflow in slow traffic when needed with a manual override switch wir...

I am currently semi-restoring an otherwise reasonable series 3 V12. Now on the question of tyres which must have come up before. Currently the car has the correct tyres but they are Avons and are getting on a bit age wise but still good tread. Trying to get 205 70 15 V rated tyres is difficult unles...

Agree Guys. But will probably have it painted at the same time to ensure same colour. Just need to find somewhere to safely store it, wrapped in bubble wrap!!! Don't think I could sell it as it has been with the car from new. Unless I got a really stupid offer.

Yes, it has already left a small mark on ther paint where the rubber seals sits. In reality I probably won't use the hard top much as I prefer to use it "hood down" plus need to find somewhere safe to store it. Although I would to keep it, as it came with the car when new and will add some value whe...

Hardtop colour

Can anyone help me. I have recently bought a series 3 V12 In Signal Red. It has a factory hardtop which is also Signal Red. I had a suspicion that all factory hardtops were black and this was proved correct after I managed to find and talk to the first owner of the car. I am having a bare metal re-p...

Fans turning freely. Took it out for a run this afternoon fans working and cutting as they should. Checked the book and it says 35 Amp in the inline fuse holder for horn and fan. Will monitor situation. Still quite interested in that coolcats design using the Volkswagen fans with a two speed setting...

Mike That's the one, sticking out of the loom with a couple of inches of brown cable on each end on top of the right hand side engine frame. Push the ends together against spring pressure to release the glass fuse. Thanks Pete, think we have the problem solved. Fuse replaced and horns working. I ha...

Hi Gary,
As I understand it the V12 is able to run on unleaded but it is recommended to use high octane 98 / 99 RON ie Shell V Power or BP Ultimate or siimlar.

Hi again, sorry to be a pain but I am struggling to find the online fuse for the horn and fan relays. The only inline fuse I can find is just above the battery and it has a fairly thick brown wire going in and out. Can't see any others. Have looked on the top frame and other than the harness block c...
